I love your lens. I've always believed keeping a journal is both self-healing and a great way to let future generations know about their ancestors.

My husband and I have a memory jar. Every time something happens that we want to remember, we write it down and put it in a jar. Sometimes we go through them and remember things we forgot. It's real special to us.

This would be a beautiful idea for my parents. My dad turned 70 this year, so it would be a great time to record some more of his memories.

Congratulations for Journal Jar getting on the Best of Cyber Monday on Squidoo!
  • MySnellvilleBlog Nov 29, 2010 @ 2:30 pm | delete
I organized making a memory jar for my parents one Christmas. I had all my brothers and sisters send me memories by email. We live all over the country, so it worked really well. I just printed them out in different fonts and put my siblings name on each one. My parents really enjoyed reading and re-reading the memories. Especially this year, it's a very meaningful and affordable gift...nearly free...and it's from the heart.

Oh, this would be a perfect gift for my niece, a budding and talented (so says her aunt!) writer. In fact, might be a great project for my boys to work on as a gift for their cousin - a family project to put us in the holiday spirit. Neat gift idea! (Congrats on the purple star, too! Almost forgot what led me here...!)
