Make Money From Home
Some of them are scams that include supposed "personal testimonies" to convince people to buy their products. Those types of sites are particularly frustrating, as I'm sure you already know.
However, there are other sites that have genuinely real testimonies explaining how they managed to make a pretty good (or great) income using the Internet. These sites may include tips on how they got there and what you can do to get there too. Some of these people may even give you numbers from month to month, showing you exactly what they made (or at least giving a ball park estimate) so that you can see that it typically takes time before you can make a steady income online.
This site is going to be a little different from that.
I recently decided that I want to be one of those people. I want to make a comfortable living from my own home. I'm not saying that I want to become exceptionally wealthy (not that I would mind), but I would like to be able to add a little something to my husband's income, so maybe we can buy those extra, little things and pay off some loans.
And I want to take you with me.

To do this, you really need to have the first four tools. The fifth (Secret Weapon) is not required, but is suggested. (See the next text module for more details) A computer (of some variety) and the Internet are obvious requirements. I'm going to assume that you already have those things since you are viewing this page right now.
Your brain is the easy part. I know you have that. It would be creepy if you didn't...
A sense of humor is probably the hardest item on the list, but if you don't have one, you need to get one fast. This is probably going to take a lot of work. Most of it should be enjoyable, but stuff does happen...like your computer dying or something that you just spent hours on not saving. Be prepared. Be patient. Be willing to laugh. This is kind of a trial and error deal with hopefully more trials without the errors than one with.

The Secret Weapon
What is the secret weapon and why do you need one?First of all, you don't NEED one, but you may really WANT one. A secret weapon is a tool that you can use that not everyone on the Internet knows how to use. It needs to be something that involves some kind of skill or expertise.
For example, my not-so-secret, secret weapon is Photoshop Elements. I can edit and manipulate photos. This is something that I am going to and have been using in effort to make money online.
Your secret weapon doesn't have to be a program. It can be a skill like being really good with HTML or being really knowledgeable about something. For example, if you are an incredible baker and know everything there is to know about baking, you may be able to put that information to use in a way that will earn you some money.
Think about it for a little while. Don't despair if you can't think of something right away. Sometimes people don't know what their own secret weapon is. That doesn't mean that you don't have one.

How does it work and what is it?
I am posting this section separate from my other money making opportunities because it is relevant to the blog that you are about to see. If you visit the blog, you will notice ads on the right-hand side. I opted into having those ads placed on my blog and when they are clicked, I get paid.
Blogger makes it very easy to add AdSense to your blog, although you can use it on other blogs or sites if you want to. Google AdSense is similar to the way you make money on Squidoo except instead of all of the money being put into a pool and divvied up between everyone, you, the blogger get paid for the specific clicks on your site. Obviously, the more traffic you get to your blog, the more clicks you are likely to have. Click the link below for more details.

It Is Important To Remember...
As you are looking over these money making opportunities, don't forget about quality. Quality is just as important as quantity because you want people to come back for more. If they show up and are disappointed in your work, then they probably won't come back. If they like it, they are more likely to come back and suggest your work to friends.

What do you think? Pretty cool, huh? So, not only do you have a lot of fun making these addictive little lenses, but you can make money off of it as well. You can then either cash out, donate it to charity, or split it up and you can make as many lenses as you want! Squidoo works with Google AdSense (they get paid when people click the advertisements).
It is different than the way it works on your blog though. They divvy the money up so that more of it goes to the people with the best lenses. This helps avoid click fraud (which is when you get someone to click an ad over and over on your site so that you make money). No one knows the exact formula for this, but it has to do with your lens rank. You can make direct royalties by having modules for Amazon, Ebay,CafePress, and others on your lens. Revenue gained by Squidoo through these advertisements are split with you. Check out this >Payment FAQ lens for more details on getting paid through Squidoo.
Associated Content
Associated Content is one of a handful of sites that will actually pay you for the articles you write. Depending on whether or not you have published an article elsewhere or not, you can potentially submit it for an upfront payment review. They typically pay somewhere between $3 and $20 per article. The more rich in content the article is, the more you will supposedly get paid.
I am currently waiting to hear from them about some articles that I submitted. Depending on how much they choose to pay me may make me continue or discontinue use of their site for publishing my content.
You also get paid $1.50 for every thousand views which doesn't sound like much, but just think, if you have articles that are just sitting there, then they are gaining you a little bit of extra money every month. The amount you get paid per every thousand views increases minimally after you have received a certain amount of views.

This is where my secret weapon is going to come in handy. CafePress allows you to design t-shirts, hats, mugs, clocks, and more that you can sell. They have a set fee for each item (depending on how much it costs them to make it) and anything that you charge above that is yours to keep.

Places You Should Definitely Submit Your Lens
By submitting to Google, your site will get indexed the next time that they crawl the web which will gain you more traffic. Submitting to Squoogle and other directories that are similar will gain you more traffic as well. Those sites handpick lenses to make sure that they are good pages. This will drive more traffic to your page as well.
I will eventually add what I hope to be a long list on this page telling you exactly where you should submit all of your sites.
You Should Totally Add...
Tags to your lens. As many as you can think of. Squidoo allows up to 40. Think of ways something may be phrased when typed into Google. If your lens is about how to set up a kitchen, tags you might include would be: kitchen, how to set up kitchen, setting up kitchen, and set up first kitchen, but you may want to phrase some tags as questions as well. An example of this would be: how do I set up my first kitchen. Punctuation can't be include in tags, so forget leave out the question mark.

That I Haven't Taken Advantage of Yet
Publish E-Books for AmazonHave a book you have been working on? A collection of articles? A bunch of recipes? How about a How-To Guide? Whatever it is, you can publish it as an E-Book for Amazon.
They have this cool, new toy that just came out that is an E-Book reader which allows the owner to access E-Books from anywhere. They could be waiting in a doctor's office and download an E-Book from their Kindle. Now, if you have been uploading E-Books, it could be potentially your book! You set the price, so you have a fair amount of say in what you get to earn and from what I have heard about these things, sales have done really well in this area. Since this new Kindle came out, now might be a good time to jump on the bandwagon and start publishing.
I'll probably do this eventually. I just want to get some lenses up first, but definitely check it out and let me know what you think.

Goals
In the short term, I would like to be making enough to cover a car payment plus insurance, so I would say that I want to be making at least $500 a month. In the long term, I want to be able to make more than that though. I want to eventually make $2000 or more a month. Sound crazy? Yeah, I know.
