Ranting Her Way into History

It seems like more and more people are becoming famous because of You Tube. Earlier this year a friend sent me a link to this video called A Fat Rant by Joy Nash. At the time it had 1300 views. The video which was written by Nash was professionally put together and flipping hilarious. Humor aside it also rammed home a few relevant points the plus size community has been trying to do for over a decade.

It's not surprising that the video is a success. She's been working on her acting skills for a number of years. At 26, this writer, actor, film maker and model has been busy honing her acting skills in Los Angeles, California. She has a BA from the University of Southern California (USC) in School of Theater and another BA from USC Sociolinguistics. She also put in time at the British American Dramatic Academy.

This Dallas, Texas born native has performed on stages throughout Los Angeles as well as participated in a number of independent films. She has plans for making more films for the internet and her growing fan base can't wait.

"I'm not saying "Get as fat as you can." I'm saying that hating yourself can't be anything but hurtful. Live your life. Really live it--and I'm pretty confident that that will include being active and not eating garbage every day."

    I think I just fell in love. How had I never heard of Joy Nash? I actually only watched the first video, because it made me so happy that I decided to savor the others one at a time over the next few weeks, a little righteous fat lady pick-me-up to be taken as needed. Yay!

    This is the first time I';ve heard of Joy Nash, but i love, love, love her fat rant. Wonderful! While I'm not saying fat is healthy, I am saying it isn't the major crisis that people like to believe it is.

    What a great woman! She has her head screwed on straight and a healthy humourous attitude to life. She will go far. I was so hoping she was going to hook up with that guy in the video though... maybe next time. Thanks for sharing this Moe.
