Tea has many varieties. Loose tea is a way to enjoy specialty varieties such as Darjeeling tea from India. Congrads on your Squidoo Level. So many new topics to explore ! Thanks.

I am not picky when it comes to tea. I enjoy each for what it is. There is some interesting information on this lens. Thanks so much.

Great lens, I like all teas.A question when using teabags, do you add the milk before you remove the teabag, or after removing it?
  • Jodi_k Jun 30, 2011 @ 4:45 pm | delete
I mostly use tea leaves, but either way I put it in after. I like to make a pot of tea, let it steep, pour it into the cup, then add the milk and sugar. I have the milk in a little pitcher, the sugar in a small ramekin, and a tea tray. It just makes me happy that way.
  • Photahsiamirabel Jun 26, 2011 @ 2:32 am | delete
Earl Grey, then Darjeeling. I have never used a teaball although I have used a spoon shaped infuser for single cups. Usually though it tends to be tea bags. :p Great lens!

I am loving a new tea I bought called Tava Tea. Its a mixture of Sencha, Oolong and Pu-erh. Its a real tasty cuppa.

I much prefer Green Tea now to Black Tea, but the brand flavors vary enormously. I really don't like Twinings or Tetley, and Liptons is horrible. My favorite Green Tea, which I can't get in the UK, it Uncle Lee's Organic Green Tea. You can but it online in the USA, and also at Walmart, at least in Florida. It has a really good taste. I like Rubioos tea as well, that is a different taste.
  • Jodi_k Jun 5, 2011 @ 11:34 am | delete
I'm with you on not liking Lipton's. I never heard of Uncle Lee's green tea (I'm more of a black tea drinker). Funny how some things there you can't get here (and vice versa).

P.S. Just put a back link to this lens from my Steam the Black Dragon.
  • efriedman May 24, 2011 @ 1:11 am | delete
My original love in tea was an excellent cup of black tea, with milk and no sugar. So I particularly enjoyed your link to George Orwell's rules for making tea. Except for the use of a tea bag, I unknowingly follow the rules. Thanks for this interesting lens.
  • OrganicMom247 Apr 13, 2011 @ 4:48 pm | delete
Hmmm, I can smell it brewing right now. I'll take mine with a little sugar please.

a wonderful lens - a perfect balance between facts and shopping ideas! thumbs up from me! i LOVE a cup of tea...sadly, it's almost impossible to get a good one anywhere in rome, italy where i live, although you can, of course, drink some excellent coffee here instead!

I don't drink tea nearly as much as I should despite having a cupboard full of the stuff. It's cold chilly morning here in Iowa so maybe I'll brew up a little. :)
  • scar4 Nov 11, 2010 @ 12:00 am | delete
Quite enjoy the simple pleasures of drinking tea!
  • Specialeetees Oct 26, 2010 @ 10:25 am | delete
I think tea is considered my staple diet for the most part LOL. For the last 30+ years I've been drinking at least 8 mugs a day :)
  • Jodi_k Oct 26, 2010 @ 10:34 am | delete
That's a lot of tea! If the health benefits are legit, you should live forever!
  • HomeDecoratingDiva Oct 17, 2010 @ 11:32 pm | delete
I am trying to drink more tea. You have some very good information here.
  • Swisstoons Oct 2, 2010 @ 12:19 pm | delete
Very informative...and about one of my favorite subjects! I drink between 3 and 5 double-cups of Chinese green tea each day and have for the past ten years or so. I find that since I began drinking green tea, I make a lot few typing errors because the tea helps me to thimk clearly. (I am always thimking.) Thumbs up, favoriting it...and lensrolling to my blueberries lens.
  • Jodi_k Oct 2, 2010 @ 1:26 pm | delete
Wow, that's a lot of tea! I'm a black and chai drinker. Not nearly as much as you though. And thanks! :-)
  • enslavedbyfaeries Sep 28, 2010 @ 7:30 am | delete
I've always been a coffee drinker until the last few months and now it just doesn't taste as good, so I've converted to tea. It's very comforting and the flavor varieties are fun too!
  • aesta1 Sep 21, 2010 @ 8:38 pm | delete
Love tea especially at night when watching a movie, I love to hold on to my nice cup of tea.
  • kiwisoutback Sep 12, 2010 @ 7:13 pm | delete
I'm more of a coffee drinker, but I still drink tea from time to time. I'm pretty easy to please, I'll drink almost any type, as long as there's a biscotti with it.
  • Jodi_k Sep 13, 2010 @ 6:17 am | delete
Mmmm... biscotti.. had some lovely ones in Little Italy recently. I like them better with coffee than tea though. For tea, give me scones.

  • Jodi_k Jul 29, 2010 @ 9:48 am | delete
I don't think I've ever had Turkish tea (off to investigate). I did have Russian Caravan this morning though.
  • LauraSchofield Jun 12, 2010 @ 4:49 pm | delete
What a great lens! I'm a particular fan of rooibos tea. I like the vanilla-flavored variety best and drink it on its own or with milk and honey.
  • Jodi_k Jun 13, 2010 @ 6:54 am | delete
    Thanks Laura!

I never had roobius, though I think I have a sample that came in a box of something else. I'll have to try it.

This is really interesting. I've tried to "get into" teas--I love the culture of it--but I keep going back to hot cocoa. :) Still, I learned a lot from this lens. Great job here.
