Ultrasone Pro 2500

Compared to my Sennheiser HD 595s, they appear to have more "air", the highs are more open. The sounds that "impact" your ears on regular headphones circumvent your ear canals with the Ultrasones. Very very nice. Bass is nice and heavy and thick.

So, are the Ultrasone Pro 2500s worth $329 compared to the $180 595s? Perhaps they are using a "simple" trick by offsetting the driver so that it hits your earframe rather than directly into your ear canal. However, they do sound great. I'd say they probably should be worth $230 to $280 alone... however, the 2500s have ULE-techonology which reduces low-frequency radiation emitted by normal headphone drivers by 98%. Soo... maybe a better chance of not getting a tumor...

I'm happy with them currently so I consider my $329 well-spent! Note, I use these to listen to my music, not to Master with. Most listeners do not have these type of headphones. Use "commercial" cans and these to listen to your mixes.

Final Fantasy XIII Chapter 13 Gil-Farming (Spoiler Free)

If you were strapped for Gil like I was and you don't have your first Trap yet (so that you can use the multiple Trap creation trick), after entering the first area in Chapter 13 and viewing the first Ch 13 cutscene, you can stay in the area and farm the first set of mobs for drops of Perfume (12.5K Gil) and Scarletite (7K Gil) quickly. There will be 3 on your right and 4 on your left.

Paradigms:
Assassination SAB+SAB+RAV (set as default)
Relentless Assault COM+RAV+RAV
MED+SEN+MED (For healing, if need be)

Characters:
Lightning (Str 1419 Mag 1409 HP 9075), Fang (Str 2152, Mag 1251, HP 9300), Hope (Str 991, Mag 2104, HP 6700)

Accessories:
Lightning: Enkindler (Axis Blade 2nd version), Aurora Scarf, Whirlwind Scarf, Nimbletoe Boots
Fang: Venus Gospel (Taming Pole 2nd version), Warrior's Wristband, Power Glove, Connoisseur Catalog
Hope: Hawkeye*, Sorceror's Mark x2, Collector Catalog

You will need to get Pre-Emptive strikes on each set of mobs. The set of 3 is relatively easy. The set of 4 may take some waiting. I watch their feet for the set of 3 and for the set of 4, watch out for the one farthest away because it can still see you. If you mess up, run away or hit Start and Select to Retry; easily done.

After the pre-emptive strike, just use Auto-Hinder with Lightning. The AI is sufficient enough to jump to each mob in succession after imposing debuffs. When the ATB bar is on the last bar of the last mob, switch to Relentless Assault, and use Auto-Battle. Again, the AI will figure out which mobs to attack for you. Usually, combat should take you from 29 secs to 31 for the set of 3.

If you want to go faster than the AI, watch the debuff ATBs it starts placing on the 3rd and 4th mobs, the AI will just start spamming a row of Poison and Imperils. What I do is let the first Poison and Imperil hit, then hit Circle and go to the next mob, watch for the next Poison and Imperil to hit, hit Circle and then go to Relentless Assault and let the AI use Auto-Battle to figure out what to do next. You could also just use Ruinga and Ruin on your own, but the AI using Auto-Battle seems faster. Note: Watch the debuff ATBs on the 3rd and 4th mob, sometimes the AI sleps in a Deprotect and Deshell so you might want to let these hit on the 3rd and 4th mobs before hitting Circle and switching to Relentless Assault.

Anyway, you should be able to clear set 3, then set 4, then go down the path in front of set 3 to where you can see set 3 respawn on the mini-map and do the cycle over again. You should be getting drops frequently and earning about 10,000 CP per loop.

Final Fantasy XIII Chapter 11 Power-Leveling Tips (Possible Spoilers)

Once you reach the Archlyte Steppe, the Official guide tells you to go through the zone directly to the next waypoint (Mah'Habara). Bad idea unless you want to see how poorly your maxed CP characters will do against the much tougher mobs. You will have to use up valuable Deceptisols to even barely survive against some of the encounters. Best thing to do is to do the 2 mission quests in the Steppe zone, pick up items A through E, and spend about 2 hours gaining CP in the Steppe before entering Mah'Habara. Also, in my game, item D is switched with item K.

After entering Mah'Habara, and reaching the first save point (Maw of the Abyss), then journey back and forth between the first save point, take the first left, go up to the end (but not the very end of the cave where a dangerous mob is) and then back to the first save point. (You don't want to go into the Earthworks just yet unless you want to fight much tougher mobs right away). Once you can do this quickly and safely (14 min or less roundtrip), you will gain 33,180 CP (not 22.4K like the guide says) and about 2400 Gil from components. Keep doing this until you totally max the 3 Roles on each of your 3 primary characters. Fill free to do even more powerleveling by spending CP in their secondary roles. (i also had enough Gil to take my 3 primary characters' weapons and max them from level 1 to level * (21) ).

Before exiting Mah'Habara to continue with the the storyline progression, you should try to complete Missions 01-18 because the next zones after Mah'Habara contains Missions 19+. If you have progressed your characters past their 3 primary role levels and working on beefing up their 4th, then you should be fine. A good test is if you can kill the Behemoth King in the first pass without him standing up/re-healing; another is if you can kill the Adamanchelid without using any items.

Also, the Admanchelid can be a source of Shrouds (if you have the Survivalist Catalog) since it takes a long time to beat. Another way to get Shrouds is to use low-level weapons & accessories on a mob and just not take any action (or heal constantly) until you have to kill it (or your party does).

Final Fantasy XIII Chapter 11: Upgrading your weapon and beyond

Trying to upgrade your weapons and accessories before Chapter 11 is like beating yourself with a stick more and more as you try to build your weapon. Having no access to the better components until Chapter 11 makes you waste further cheap components (in a logarithmic fashion) while trying to upgrade your items. Once you hit Chapter 11 and Lenora's Garage gives you access to SuperConductors, you can start upgrading. Also, the Official guide is incorrect on EXP requirements for Level 1 to Level 21(*) weapon upgrades, and this is why I posted this tip.

Best way to upgrade is as follows (using Lightning's Axis Blade as an example):

1. Buy 36 of Sturdy Bone/Barbed Tail/Vibrant Ooze or 24 of Otherworldly Bone/Diabolic Tail/Transparent Ooze. 2880 gil for 36 Sturdy Bones.
2. Buy 47 Superconductors. You can buy 26 Perfect Conductors instead but this costs a bit more than 47 SuperConductors (39,480 gil).
3. Upgrade with the items from #1 to get the EXP X3 bonus, then upgrade with the items in #2.

For the GAE BOLG, it will cost 49 SuperConductors.

This will bring your Axis Blade from Level 1 to Level 21(*). The Official guide says exp requirements roughly double so I will check that later. The guide was incorrect in stating you need 50,000 exp to get the item from Level 1 to Level 21, it varies from weapon to weapon. Axis Blade is actually 67680 exp, Gae Bolg was less than 70360. What I did to find the cheapest way to do this was load game, buy and upgrade, then quit, and repeat; each time trying to figure out what the optimum minimum was for upgrading the item. You don't want to sit there and buy 99 of something when you actually only need 47 of them. Gil is not that easy to obtain yet.

So the best way is to save the game before you upgrade, buy, upgrade to EXP x3, upgrade with components and see if the minimum amount of components takes it to the max level without going overboard.

To upgrade a weapon to the 2nd version, it will cost the catalyst, plus 36 sturdy bones, plus at least 413866 EXP (use 4 Ultracompact reactors (20,000 Gil).

Final Fantasy XIII Chapter 4 Combat Tip (Contains Spoilers)

FFXIII Tips (Contains Spoilers)

Chapter 4: Scrap Processing
There is a trio of Pulsework Soldiers at the multi-platform section. Trying to defeat them quickly and get 5 stars is no easy feat. What you need to do is try to level up Sazh and Venille at the four control panel area further ahead and also running back to defeat the mobs at the multi-platform section before the four control panel area. By defeating mobs in both areas for CP, and by building them up to their max potential in all their roles, you'll be able to take down the 3 pulsework soldiers quicker.

Here is the process (without having to use potions):
Give Vanille the +100 hp ring.
Give Sazh the Resist Physical +10% Black Belt.

1. Start off with pre-emptive strike. If you don't do this, you will be in for a long fight and not get 5 stars.
2. Slash and Burn a Pw Soldier immediately and keep doing that until it is defeated. You can let both characters' health drop to 50% or even less if you're comfortable.
3. Switch to War & Peace if you need to heal (don't top off).
4. Switch to Tide Turner and protect yourself (or Vanille) and wait till she gets Deprotect & Deshell on the 2nd Pw Soldier.
5. Switch to Slash and Burn and keep attacking until the 2nd one is dead. Use War & Peace if you get below 300 health (don't top off).
Repeat 4 through 5 on the last mob.

I was able to kill them in 2:14 (5 Stars).

Mission 6-4-2:

Graviga
Curaga
Hell Thundaga
Dash
Hell Firaga
HP Up++

Accessories:

Sea Chocobo Armlet
Wizard Bracelet
Doc's Code
Mog's Amulet

During the way to the boss, keep it as above. Then when you're at the boss, switch it back so that Hell Thundaga is first, then Curaga, then Hell Thundaga. use Dash to get out of range of all monsters. There is not enough room on the bridge so try your best. Use Hell Thundaga to destroy the Sahuagin. Keep using Dash to stay away from the Movers. use Graviga on the Movers until they are taking 200 dmg or less. Then move in and hit them with Attack in order to stop them from using Flare or hitting you. Just stay away from them. Be prepared to use an Ether inbetween the Sahuagin and Movers if you don't have alot of MP.

Mission 7-4-5:

Mug (not necessary)
Curaga
Graviga
Hell Thundaga (not necessary)
Assault Twister (not necessary)
HP Up++

Equipment:
Sea Chocobo Armlet
Adaman Bangle
Carbon Bangle
Shinra Beta

Cast Graviga multiple times, stay away from it as much as possible, its Stranglehold attack does approx. 2570 to 50th level Zack, it casts Firaga sometimes.

Event Log service is unavailable (Vista Ultimate 64 error)

Error 5: Access is Denied

If you're getting the above two errors when you try to start Event Viewer, even if you are the administrator and you have administrator privileges, then try adding the Local Service account with full permissions to the C:\Windows\System32\winevt folder. This solved my problem after two days of using every fix imaginable.
