Snoop Dizzle.com



I thought it would be funny if I made a search website that gave all of the search results they way Snoop Dogg would say them. Thus, I made Snoop Dizzle.com. Basically, it uses the Yahoo BOSS web service to get search results from yahoo. Then it converts the results to the way Snoop Dogg would say them by adding "izz" and "izzle" to words. I could not have actually made the site without Mr. Ritesh Nayak's excellent example of yahoo boss implementation.

I currently host this site with Webfaction. I started with them in November 2008, and haven't had any problems yet. They don't use cpanel, but the list of auto install software is good.

TextBook Nook.com - Cheap College Textbooks



My brother has been running a business selling textbooks for some time, and he wanted to get some web presence. Thus, I made TextBook Nook.com to help him sell books. Right now he doesn't have a lot of books up, but he will soon.

I made this site to help people promote their websites. Basically, people can use it to search for pages that have the "nofollow" tag turned off. It has an index that is as large as yahoo's, so you can search the entire internet for good places to link to your site.

I also have this site hosted on Webfaction. This seems like a site that will get a lot of traffic, so it should be a good test for webfaction. Incidentally, when I initially started looking for hosting I looked at bluehost, hostmonster, monsterhost, godaddy, yahoo, etc., but I went with webfaction because they seemed to have the least amount of complaints of any ot the host providers. There are a lot of fake reviews of host companies, so be careful when you read online reviews. A good way to find if a host is good is to go to google and search for the host name and "sucks".
