The Heavy Metal Sound of Judas Priest
One of the all time hottest heavy metal bands to hit the stage is Judas Priest. They are a Grammy Award winning English heavy metal band from Birmingham, formed in 1968. Judas Priest members include front man vocalist Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis.
Due to their popularity and status as one of the best heavy metal bands of all time, Judas Priest has earned the nickname "Metal Gods" from their song of the same name.
According to original vocalist Al Atkins, the band got its name from the Bob Dylan song "The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest".
I've always enjoyed the tunes of Judas Priest, because of their heavy driving beat and the vocal range of Rob Halford.

This is a very good tutorial, but geared a bit more for the intermediate to advance player. Dennis Hodges is an excellent player and a good instructor. He gets a little goofy at one point, but all in all its a nice tutorial for a great heavy tune.

You've Got Another Thing Comin' video lesson
Another favorite of mine is "You've Got Another Thing Comin'". This video instructs on how to play the intro and chorus to the song, but no lead guitar instruction. You'll learn that "chug chug" heavy sound of the guitars.

This video lesson of "Living After Midnight" is taught by Bobby Crispy. Bobby is an excellent instructor as well as guitarist. He has over 300 videos up on YouTube.com! Bobby teaches the main riff of the song, but not the lead portion. Still a very nice instructional video.
