Sylvan Lake Lodge is located on Highway 89 in beautiful Custer State Park.

DIRECTIONS:
From Rapid City, South Dakota via Mt Rushmore Road/Hwy 16- located approximately 31 miles
Mt Rushmore Road, also Hwy 16 south out of town.
Mt Rushmore Road turns into Hwy 16/385. Follow the road to Hill City.
Approximately 3.5 miles past Hill City is the turn to Sylvan Lake Lodge (Hwy 89).
Follow Hwy 89 six (6) miles to Sylvan Lake Lodge.
From Rapid City, South Dakota via Hwy 79 - located approximately 49 miles
Hwy 79 south to Hwy 36
Turn west (right) on Hwy 36. When entering Custer State Park, Hwy 36 becomes Hwy 16A.
Follow Hwy 16A west to Junction 89, take a right approximately 6 miles to Sylvan Lake Lodge.

Hwy 16A to Hwy 89 north.
Follow Hwy 89 approximately 7 miles to Sylvan Lake Lodge

The ceremony will be lakeside about a 2-minute drive further down the highway.

We're sure the first thing that comes to your mind when thinking about this wedding is the location. We know what you're thinking: "Where the heck is Sylvan Lake and why are you having your wedding so far from your home?" Right? Here's why. Sylvan Lake is in the middle of Custer State Park and the Black Hills in South Dakota. Last summer, we drove through this area on our way to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska and said to each other, "we should get married here!" We understand that it will be a bit of a road trip to get there, but we think that's the fun in it--especially if you've never been there before. There is so much to see and so much to do, we're sure you'll want to stay a few extra days.

There are a lot of options you can choose from when choosing lodging. You can stay at the Sylvan Lake Lodge where the reception will be held if you'd like, but there are plenty of other options. Being right in the middle of a big tourist destination, there are hotels and campsites all over the area.
