There are many exercises that you can do inside of your house or in your yard, with no equipment needed. Now I will describe 5 effective exercises to help you increase your jump.1. One of these exercises is doing lunges. In order to do this, you lunge forward and bring your knee almost touching the ground, forming a right angle with your upper and lower leg. When you get about an inch from the ground pauses for a moment until you feel it burn. Then do it with the other leg. Do 5 to 10 repetitions.
2. If you have access to dumbells, they will help you to improve the strength even more in your calves. A jump rope is a very inexpensive piece of equipment that can help you build the strength in your legs. When you are jumping, make sure to be on the balls of your feet, because this will help focus on strengthening your calves.
3. Another great exercise is done by simply walking around on your tip-toes. If you are able to do this for 30 minutes a day it will improve the strength of your calves by a great deal. After you walk for 30 minutes on your tip-toes, walk backwards on your tip-toes for another 5 to 10 minutes. Be careful that you do not walk into anything when you are going backwards!

5. Another way to strengthen the calf muscles is to start out standing on the bench with both feet. Jump backwards and land on the ground. You also want to do this exercise for 3 sets of 8 to 12. Also, you can just do a basic one foot and two foot jump. Do them as high as you can, as many times as you can. Calf raises are a great way to improve the strength of your calves. In order to do these, you need to put the balls of your feet on the edge of a step, with your heels hanging off of the edge. Simply raise yourself up, using your calves and lower yourself slowly. Lower yourself until you feel your calves start to burn.
