Carl Gustav Jung (1865-1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology.

Jung had a unique approach to psychology which concentrated on understanding the psyche by exploring the worlds of mythology, art, dreams, philosophy and religion. Much of his life was spent studying alchemy, sociology, Eastern vs. Western philosophy, astrology, literature and the arts.

The concepts of balance and harmony were important to Jung. He felt that people rely too heavily on logic and science and they should integrate spirituality into their lives.
