Carl Jung the Great Psychologist and Philosopher

This lens is about Carl Jung, one of the most innovative and radical minds in Psychology in the 20th century. His theories helped to advance the study of the mind and what make people think and behave the way they do. He was also a prolific writer and artist who gained respect from many communities in various disciplines. This lens will evolve into something I hope will be useful to psychology students and others interested in the work of Carl Jung.

Dr. Jung was once a colleague and friend of Sigmund Freud, but developed theories of his own which went beyond Freudian logic. Jung developed many theories about the subconscious mind, collective unconsciousness, archetypes, the super conscious mind, the importance of symbolism on an inner level, and may other things. This lens encourages you to read more and embark on an exploration of some of the life and work of Dr. Carl Jung.

"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves." ~ Carl Gustav Jung

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens." ~ Carl Jung

I liked your title of this lens... Being in psychology, I know that Jung's contribution were far and wide, but many people don't consider him a philosopher, too. :-)

    With Love and Gratitude,

I love Jung's psychology. Reading Answer To Job at the mo' I think his ideas about archetypes are fascinating, and as for Synchronicity well...just the other day I was listening to a radio chat programme about a man whose favourite tune was the Radetsky March, I switched programme to Classic FM and there it was being played!
