How to Decorate a Nursery in a Jungle Theme
Jungle Decor Bedding, Accessories, Tips, and Advice
Jungle themed nurseries are adorable and are a great option for a little boy when the family isn't into sports and a cute choice for a little girl if the idea of a room full of Pepto Bismol pink doesn't appeal to you.
I did my baby boy's nursery in a jungle theme. I bought the Fisher Price Rainforest bedding set because I like that it's bright and cheery. I then mixed and matched various jungle, animal, and safari decor accessories with it.
I am very pleased with the results. It's a colorful room full of whimsical animals wearing friendly smiles.
Decorating Tip
Don't be afraid to mix accessories from other collections with the bedding you choose. The Fisher-Price Rainforest collection doesn't have a switch plate cover or wall decals, so I used some from another jungle collection.

Mommy Tips on Choosing Accessories
What I've Learned About Designing a Jungle Themed Nursery

After looking at a bunch of different animal nursery collections, I discovered something. Some are called jungle themed and some are safari themed, but a lot of them combine animals from each region. For example, the Fisher-Price Rainforest collection has monkeys, tree frogs, and tiger which are found in the jungle. Then they threw in a giraffe, which is found on the savanna.
I've learned that you can mix jungle, zoo, and safari collections as long as the colors work well together. It doesn't have to match exactly; it just needs to look good together. Your baby doesn't know that elephants and hippos are found on the savanna, while monkeys and tigers are in the jungle. So, first choose the bedding set you like most. Then, when choosing accessories, have fun and mix elements you like from each set and choose animals that you like the best.
Mommy Tips on Choosing a Paint Color
Practical Advice on Choosing Your Nursery's Wall Color

Before you choose a paint color for your baby's nursery you need to first decide if the color you choose will be staying through your child's infant, toddler, and part of his or her childhood or if you are willing to repaint it in a year or two. If you are willing to repaint it, then choosing a color that matches the bedding you fall in love with is great. If you plan to be living with the color for a long time, choose something versatile and think ahead.
I like warm tones. Warm colors make me feel good and cool colors make me feel bad, so I knew that I didn't want a blue nursery for my little one. Blue makes me think of sadness. I wanted a green, but it needed to be a warm green. Since we'd be sticking with the color for a while I definitely didn't want to go with a baby mint green that he'd outgrow in a few years. I wanted a green that would look good with his new Rainforest bedding, but I also wanted it to look good with what ever he wanted next (dinosaurs, cars, bugs, etc).
I went to the paint store and grabbed a sample card for every green they had (remember that the color will never look the same in your home's lighting as it will in the store's lighting). I then taped each sample up on the wall in the baby's nursery. I looked at the colors in the morning light, afternoon light, and evening light over the next few days. If one green looked to gray or to yellow during one part of the day, I took it down and tossed it. Then, from the greens that were left, I chose the one that I liked best.
In summary, the best way to choose a paint color is:
1) Decide how long you'll be living with this color.
2) Bring samples home and look at them in the room that you'll be painting.
3) Look at the samples in natural and artificial light where they will appear during different times of day.
4) View the samples over a few days before making a choice. Not only might you feel differently on different days, but the lighting may be different too.
Jungle Theme Nursery Bedding
Fisher-Price Rainforest Nursery Collection
Playful Tigers, Happy Monkeys, and Lots of Color
The Fisher-Price Rainforest collection is what I chose for my baby boy's nursery. It's adorable. The pictures do not do it justice. It is not a pastel set. The colors are vivid and happy. The blue is not a typical boy blue, but more of an aqua. Their are two green tones, a grass green and a celery green. The tree frog is red. It's a very cheerful set.
I love that the bumper is printed on both sides. Many baby bedding sets have just a solid color on one side of the bumper. The sheet is ultra soft. And it's really neat that there is a whole line of toys, gyms, bouncers, jumpers, high chairs, diaper bags, (you get the idea) that Fisher-Price makes in the Rainforest theme. So, you can have everything from the nursery to the playpen to the swing and more matching!
I bought the entire Rainforest collection and have also accessorized it with items from other jungle and safari collections. It makes for an adorable nursery.
We painted the walls green. The green we chose looks great with the bedding and is vibrant without being a primary green. It is a great paint that covers well with just one coat. It's Sherwin Williams Cashmere paint in "Dancing Green."
