What am I doing??
I told myself I needed to get involved with the "Real" world! I'd quit my lucrative job the summer of '08!!
I explained my leave of mentality as a medical requirement. Which, in all honesty it was, I did have surgery a week later and all things turned out good, actually great!
But, when the subject of me returning back to work was brought up.......I just couldn't see myself getting back into the rat-race.
That so called "Real" world had put too much pressure on the home life, too many expectation to be the best, to have the best, to have things that you really didn't need but everyone else had it. I had more toys than I needed, 2-50in TV's, every game console out there, greenhouse, hot tubs, 30 ft holiday trailer, two new vehicles, owned our own home, winter and summer vacations, etc
Well, I just didn't want that anymore!!!! After a couple of months of following a couple of really awesome blogs to help with my health and well-being, I thought I would see what else was out there.
That's when I found my "Real" world. I started my own website to share with everyone and now I'm here to met you. What an honor to be featured in the Fresh Squid Contest in the month of May, 2009 on my second lens. Please check it out and give "A Miracle Tree"a vote.
Ive even finished a lens on Water and why we need it, the fun part was adding music to it.
I'm looking forward to jumping in with both feet and meeting as many people as I can!!!

Spending More Time with My Family
The best advantage of staying home
Deciding to stay home was a big decision for me. I've always had a job and gave it 110%, I needed to feel I had accomplishing something and getting paid for it was a bonus. A bonus that helped buy all the extras that my family thought they needed.
Staying at home I lost my purpose in life it took a couple of months to realize that I had a greater purpose to raise my chiildren to be the best they could be.

Goal Setting for Kids
Ever thought about Goal Setting for Kids? Goal setting is one of the most important skills that a person can learn, and the earlier this skill is learned, the more chances there are for successful outcomes in a person's life. Adults know that goal setting is all about planning, making progress with that plan and reaching final goals or achievements. Once a child learns how to do this, they can use this tool for more success in school and at home.
Goal setting for kids will help your children to do well on their school tests and in activities such as sports, music programs or outside academic or arts programs - even at home, and with their personal finances. Teaching your child how to be a goal setter will give them a sense that they are capable of whatever they want to do. That's valuable!

How to help your child be a goal setting child
Goal setting for children is basically the same as for adults, with a few caveats. Because they are young, and not as emotionally or cognitively developed, goals should be smaller and more tangible. The idea with goal setting for kids is to get them started in the life-long frame of mind for thinking, planning and taking action to achieve results. The basic premises of goal setting remain the same. You can help your child learn to set goals by working through these steps with him:
Ask, "What do you want to achieve?" - Help your child describe in specific terms something he would like to do that will take some work/planning (getting an A on his next math test, earning money to purchase a certain kind of bicycle).
Ask, "How will you get there?" - Help him plan out the steps to take and the mini-goals to reach on his way to the ultimate goal.
Establish accountability - Have your child write down what he wants to achieve and what his plan for getting there is. He can read it each day to help him with personal accountability, and he can share it with you, or another trusted adult to help him stay motivated, inspired and on-track.
Achieve - Achievement is not only for the final outcome, but also for the small goals that are met along the way.
Review plan/goals/outcomes - Throughout the process and at the end as well, review with your child the plan and how it is going. Do adjustments need to be made? How does he feel about his progress and where it is leading? How was the goal setting experience for him?
If your child does not reach his ultimate goal, talk to him about what he learned on the way. He still has learned valuable lessons about planning and goal setting, and he's probably learned about himself. Encourage him to not give up on dreams that are important to him, but that if one plan doesn't work, he has to revise the plan and try again.
Teaching your child to be a goal-setting child is one of the best things you can do.
You will be giving him or her, a valuable gift that they will use for their entire lives, empowering them to achieve wonderful things in every area of life. Goal setting for kids is a skill that will be built on throughout an entire lifetime. For a fantastic resource about Goal Setting for kids, go to

In the Beginning
What started me on the internet
I started drinking a supplement drink that was helping me with my health problems. I used the internet to learn more about main ingredient, Moringa Oleifera and why it was working. Searching the internet is a lot of fun and educational but how much can you believe and what do you do with that information you find!
This's when I decided to build a website about that information that I found. Now I'm working with squidoo, my new favorite toy, to let you know about my website. I also have a blog to keep my focused on my personal goals that can be fun too.

Why do you need a blog?
What pushed me!
Now that I had a website up I knew I needed to let you know about it. I knew that I needed to start a blog and start socializing on the internet in order for you to find me.
On March 31, 2009 - Dax Moy wrote on his Magic Hundred Blogspot When Should You Start Your Goals?
Boy, did that hit home!!! For what ....eight months my goal was to start a blog on the internet and start promoting my website
I just found too much information (or chatter as some call it) to review to make my information the most important.
Now I realize that will never happen. What I deemed as important, you might think is nonsense.
Check out Dax Moy's blog and start with your goals..Link it back to me and I visit your place!

How the world has accepted the internet!
I've learnt alot about the internet and still haven't mastered it. It's a fun playground that everyone should try and get to understand.
Realizing that our children today are being educated to function in our world, when in reality we're creating a world beyond our imagination.
I find that it's almost manditory for parents to become fluent in the blogging and social networking in order to know what our children are getting into and to help them understand the boundaries and learn how to read between the lines.
Not everything on the internet is real or necessary to know! Learning how to know what is real is something we need to teach our kids.

About my life
As I mentioned, I left the rat-race the summer of '08. I was letting my job as a Adminstrator for a law firm take control of my life. What was happening with the clients and staff took over what was important to me.
I grew up in a small town where everyone knew my name, and believe me that's not alway so good!
I met this "Big City" guy (that's what my family calls him) and he moved me to, where else....the Big City.
After a couple of years we bought our house, flew to Hawaii and decided to get married there. Yes, he can be romantic too. His greatest memory of that week is the ProBowl, I believe the AFC won that year.
Since then, we've been very fortunate to have a little girl blessing our lives for the last 14 years. The unbelievable part is that her and I are best friends, I keep waiting for the day when that might stop, so I'm enjoying every moment I can with her.
Then came our excitement with our son, total energy and a live-in comedian. I know him and I will always be best friends as we see things in the same light. Never taking anything too serious to get us down, life is just way too short.
These are the reason why I'll be staying home and enjoying my "Real" world.

Just for fun: Books I recommend
The reason I'm staying at home, having the fun I am IS because of my health.
At the fast pace I was going the eating habits where non existent. We ate on the fly, the faster we could make it and eat it, the better to get on with living.
Food was not part of the pleasure factor, never did we really think to slow done and enjoy making a meal that took 2 or 3 hours to prepare and eat.
My body paid for it!!! And I'm sure, so did my family's.
With the help of Zija, I've been researching how to improve my health the natural way and why the foods I've been addicted too are breaking down my body.
The EAT This NOT That! series of books by David Zinczenko, Editor-in-chief of Men'sHealth, are truly an eye opener. If you can get you hands on one or more of them you will NOT be disappointed.
Not all foods are created equal!!
