JUVENILE DIABETES INFORMATION - GLUCOSE
Glucose is the most important carbohydrate which helps supply energy to the body. It works with insulin to help construct glucose transporters to the body's cells. This glucose produces energy compulsory for the operation of the body. When this process is disturbed and the production of insulin is affected, the condition is called diabetes.
The pancreas produces insulin, when the body is unable to utilize the insulin produced, then this is known as type 2 diabetes. The condition when the pancreas stops producing insulin altogether, is called type 1 diabetes.

WHY IS IT CALLED JUVENILE DIABETES
Type 1 diabetes usually occurs in children and young adults; therefore it is also called juvenile diabetes.

HOW IS DIABETES INHERITED
If your family has a history of diabetes, then you have to take extra care as you have a greater chance of getting it than someone who does not have a family history of the disease. Look out for the signs and symptoms of type 1 diabetes at an early age. It is best to get the right tests done to confirm whether or not you have it. Warning Signs Diabetes: DIABETES AWARENESS: CHILDHOOD DIABETES
1. Blurry vision; Changes in the eyesight the child may have hazy vision.
2. Frequent thirst and desire of sweet drinks as child suffering from diabetes urinates very often.
3. Increased frequency of urination: Unusual urination is due to high level of glucose in the blood as when there is high level of sugar in the body kidneys start getting rid of it.
4. Irritability and changes in the behavior.
5. Pain in abdomen.
6. Sudden drop in the weight of the child because body uses fat and proteins for energy in place of glucose.
7. Extreme fatigue and weakness in the child. Weakness and malaise
8. Acute symptoms as nausea and vomiting.
9. Increased appetite in the child.
10. In untreated and undiagnosed cases diabetic acidosis is seen also known as diabetic coma.
11. Child may complain of dry mouth and throat
12. In toddlers and infants diaper rashes are seen which are not improved after the application of medicated creams.
