JV Giveaways - Build Your List At Warp Speed

Joint venture giveaways have got to be the fastest and easiest way to build an opt in email list for beginning internet marketers. Where else can you benefit from the lists of better known marketers? It will be a cold day in hell before a so called "guru" will do a joint venture with a newbie marketer that has no list at all.

JV giveaways let you do exactly that! Here is how it works. You join the JV giveaway as a contributor before it begins. You submit your gift and start promoting the JV giveaway. It is important that you promote the event.

Your gift will be ranked on the website according to how many people you have referred, both as contributors and members. Sometimes JV partner referrals will be worth more points than regular member referrals but it depends on the giveaway. Most JV giveaways will remove your partner status if there are no hits on your affiliate link, so make sure you promote.

Once the JV giveaway begins, people start coming to the site and download your gift. Of course you take them to your sign up page before they can get their gift, thus adding them to your auto responder and your list.

The beauty of this is that all of the JV partners are promoting the same website. You get to leverage the traffic generated by all of the partners. I have been in JV giveaways that had over 500 partners. That is a lot of traffic my friend.

I hope you can see the power in this. It is an awesome opportunity for someone who is just starting to build an email list. The cool part is that as your list gets bigger, you are able to referr more people to the giveaways. This moves your gift up in the rankings which gets you even more signups in a shorter amount of time.

If you are going to participate in JV giveaways as a contributor then you will need to make sure you have some things set up initially. First and foremost you need a gift to giveaway. This can be a product you created or something you have resell rights to.

It doesn't have to be an ebook. It can be software, a video, a collection of web page graphics, a free report. Use your imagination. I have been giving away free Pro memberships to my safelist, JT's Ad Venture. I also throw in a couple Solo ads and some banner impressions to make it more attractive.

I see a lot of people using free reports that have been circulating the internet for a while and even giving away memberships to things that are already free to join like My Viral Pop Ads. There is nothing wrong with this. You can build your down line in the program and your list at the same time.

If you are a relative newbie and don't have good webmaster skills, I recommend finding a PLR product that comes with a sales page. This is a good idea because you will need a picture of the product to upload to the JV giveaway website when you set up your gift. You also need to set up a landing page, where people will submit there email address to your auto responder form, and a download page.

There are lots of places to acquire these kinds of products. I keep a list of all the ongoing and upcoming events along with some links to resources where you can pick up resell rights products. I would bookmark it and check back from time to time to see when the new events are starting. I update it several times a week.

Once you have your product with website graphics and an image to upload, you want to set up your auto responder. If you don't have one then get one. This is going to be the tool that is going to make you money. Today's internet marketing is not about hype and quick sales. It's about relationship marketing. Once you get a persons email address, you are going to let them get to know you and provide them with good content and knowledge.

Over deliver! Don't come at them with sales pitches starting with the first email. Give them more freebies and some good advice. Show them you are there to help them. Yes, you do want to sell to them, but don't over do it and try to build some trust first. They will remain on your list and you will make money on the back end for years to come.

Enough with the lecture! Don't use one of the crappy free auto responders. They are not reliable. I am speaking from experience. Also, they can be complicated when you try to set up your opt in form. For ease of use and reliability, I recommend what I use, Aweber.

Now that you have your product and auto responder, you will need web hosting. Most of you probably already have a hosting account. If you don't have web hosting, you need a place to host your product, your download page, and your landing page. I use a service called VIP Hosting. You can get unlimited everything for $130 a year. That's unlimited bandwith, storage space, add on domains, subdomains, mysql data bases...everything. It is a cpanel account with Fantastico and tons of free marketing software to boot. Get that and you are almost set to go.

Here is how the whole system will work. Someone will join the giveaway and browse through the list of products. If they are interested in yours they will click on the link and be taken to your landing page. Your landing page will have the opt in form that you generated in Aweber. Aweber has a nice little interface where you set up your form and then it generates a little piece of code that you copy and paste into your landing page where you want your opt in form. This can be done with any html editor. You can use a free one for this.

Make sure you use the double opt in feature in Aweber. This makes the person verify there email address by clicking on a link that is sent to the address they signed up with. Now here is where the saavy marketer can make a little money. In your Aweber account under "List Settings" - "Verified Opt-In" there is a place at the bottom of the page to add a confirmation success page. Here is where you want to sent your prospect to a one time offer. This is a very powerful technique and you will see that most marketers use it.

Don't know how to set up a one time offer? Well, you don't need to. Just go to OTO Goldmine, sign up for free, and follow the directions. It is that easy. If you don't do this, you are leaving money on the table.

After your prospect buys or declines the OTO, he will be taken to your download page to pick up his free product. From there, your auto responder handles the rest. I recommend a bare minimum of at least 5 follow up messages. Or you can always send the occasional broadcast message but I would automate as much as possible. Set and forget is the way to go.
