Education
A graduated from IIT Kharagpur, Jyotindra Thacker worked in India for three years before earning his MBA with specialization in Management Information Systems from the USA. After his post-graduation, he sharpened his technical and management skills in the USA for a few more years. Soon, he moved back to his motherland, India.
Early Years
Jyotindra Thacker joined the Reliance Group as a full-time employee in 1990. In 2002, when Reliance started its operations in the telecom sector, he became a major contributor in furthering Dhirubhai Ambani's vision and the company's mission of building a nationwide fibre-optic network that resulted in cheaper tariffs. Thacker effectively negotiated with suppliers like Nortel and Qualcomm, and managed to bring down costs considerably.
Thus, for RIL's latest venture, Infotel, which has bagged broadband spectrum for 22 circles, his experience and skill will prove most useful.
