Handmade organic toys

I am always looking for quality and safe toys for my kid. I am a big fan of
Selecta
for their wooden toys collection,
Kathe Kruse
for the cute puppets and Lana natural for the stuffed toys. My latest finds are the toys from Kallisto. Kallisto high end toys are handmade from natural material: organic cotton and untreated sheep wool. They are very soft. They come in a wide variety of designs. Kallisto also offers a nice selection of music boxes.

Fisher-Price Recalls Learning Pots and Pans Toys Due to Choking Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Learning Pots & Pans Toys

Units: About 15,000

Importer: Fisher-Price, of East Aurora, NY

Hazard: Missing screws in the blue toy pan can cause the clear plastic cover to come loose and release small balls, presenting a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Fisher-Price has received five reports of the plastic covers detaching and releasing the small balls. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Learning Pots and Pans%u2122 toy sets with stackable pots and pans, a lid and shape-sorting blocks. The toys have light and sound features that operate on three AA batteries. Model number G6685 is located on the bottom of the blue pan.

Sold at: Discount department and toy stores nationwide from October 2007 to August 2008 for about $20.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take these recalled toys away from children and examine the bottom of the blue pan. The pan should contain six screws. If all six screws are installed, no further action is necessary. If any screws are missing, the consumer should contact Fisher-Price to arrange for the return of the blue pan for a replacement.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Fisher-Price at (888) 521-0820 anytime, or visit the firm's Web site at www.service.mattel.com

It's been a while since I bought toys, but in a couple of years, I just might have a grandchild to buy for. Son getting married next January. It pays to know what to look for. Thanks for the info! I'm definitely going to need it. :)

Great lens! We fell in love with the Kallisto animals 2 years ago in Nurnberg and decided we had to add them to our growing line of eco-friendly toys that we distribute to stores across the country.

Did you know that Brigitte (she is the owner of Kallisto shown in the video at the Nurnberg Toy Fair) finishes the face of each animal herself? She does this because each animal is her "baby" and she takes great care to make sure that each piece is just right.

If you like Kallisto, you may also like Lana and the Keptin-Jr organic cotton & phthalate free vinyl dolls which are also made in Europe.

Thanks again for helping to get the word out about these great organic stuffed animals!

Those are really cute. Nice lens.
Check out cozybagz (microwaveable corn filled heating bags) when you get a chance. They have a new line of organic fabrics and the bags are actually filled with organic corn. They are great for little tummy aches or straight from the freezer for scrapes and bruises.
