Royas Baseball Fans

The Kansas City Royals fans have been through a lot throughout the history of the organization. After the Kansas City A's left town, the fans didn't know what to expect. Would there be much of the same or change in the new team? Would this Ewing Kaufman guy bring the great historic baseball city a title?

The expansion team (created in 1969) would of course succeed, but not until 1985 with the help of young arms and gold glove season by one of the greatest 3rd basemens to ever play the game, George Brett, and Steve Balboni wacking 36 homeruns--which is still the Royals record for most homeruns in a season.

However, ever since the KC Royals championship season of 1985, the Royals have yet to make the playoffs. Will that change soon? With the influx of talent coming up through the minors, we hope so. Stay tuned!

What is your favorite Kansas City Royals memory?

My favorite memory is the race for the playoffs in 2003. I wasn't born yet to see the glory day of the Royals, so the 2003 surge (and eventual falter) is the closest thing to success I have yet seen.

I'm a STL Cardinal fan (I live at the other end of the state (St. Louis -- LOL). But I have attended KC Royals games AND had the privilege of being at the Opening Game of the 1985 World Series! What a thrill -- what a memory. Your 'Royals' began the 2011 season pretty strong, but have some 'catching-up' to do now at mid-season at 33-47. Good luck to them. Great visiting another Baseball Fan!
