I recently came up with a new policy at my Taekwon-do school. At every karate belt test, a student will receive a special journal along with their new belt.

The benefits of a training journal have been widely documented and I decided to experiment with my last karate belt promotion by giving each student a gift.

Here is the catch: for the next karate belt test, the student has to submit a photocopy (they can use mine) of one or two entries in order to get the next journal.

I found a local printer who can print these for me and have them in colors that match the new karate belt! They can be white, yellow, green, orange, purple, blue, red, brown or black.

At first, I looked at having them done by Cafepress or something like that but all they allow me to do is put a picture on the front. The way I do it, we put the school logo/insignia on the front in a die-cut.

I also put inspirational quote on every page to foster creativity and list a few dozen topics in the front of the book.

If you email me a 4 inch diameter logo, I'll have it printed for you in the color of your choice and ship it to you for 12 bucks.
