Please feel free to sign the guestbook at the bottom of the page stating all your thoughts/feelings about the band.
About Kasabian
Kasabian is a five-piece English rock band from Leicester. The band has two former members in the form of Chris Karloff and Ash Hannis, the band's line-up has remained the same since 2006 now however and the following are the current five members that make up the fantastic indie rock band that is Kasabian:- Tom Meighan - Lead Vocals
- Sergio Pizzorno - Guitar, Backing Vocals & Lead Vocals
- Jay Mehler - Guitars
- Chris Edwards - Bass
- Ian Matthews - Drums & Percussion
So far the band has released just two studio albums and a live album also. The band's self-titled debut album was released through RCA Records in September 2004, second album 'Empire' then following in August 2006. The live album 'Live From Brixton Academy' was released in July 2005 in order to bridge the gap between the first and second albums.
Both of the band's albums so far have received mixed reviews from the music press; some loving the band, other however absolutely loathing them. Despite mixed reviews; the band's second album still went straight to number one in the UK album chart upon its release and this just shows the supreme strength of the band's fan base in the UK.
The band is very confident of its own ability; brimming with confidence in fact and perhaps even at times venturing into the realm of cockiness. The band's arrogance is similar to that of Oasis' Liam Gallagher; all five members of Kasabian are extremely sure of themselves, and having shifted many copies of both of their albums thus far they have good reason to be too.
Kasabian is by no means the biggest name in UK rock music, still a decent band however and one which has now recorded and released two very good albums. Some have cited the band as possessing that 'Madchester' sound, personally I can't see it however and given that the band is actually from Leicester it seems a bit silly to consider Kasabian alongside the likes of Manchester's Stones Roses and Oasis. Confidence-wise, yes Kasabian are very similar to Oasis; musically completely different however and this is something that needs to be noted when listening to the music of Kasabian.
Having formed in 1999, next year marks the tenth anniversary of Kasabian and I have to say that the future most definitely looks bright for these indie rockers from Leicester. Be sure to give the band a listen, you'll surely not be disappointed and if you're after a strong slice of indie rock then you can't really go far wrong with Kasabian.

'Empire' is the second studio album from Kasabian; the album was released in 2006 through BMG Records and consists of a total of 11 tracks. Although not as good as the band's first album, 'Empire' is still a decent effort from Kasabian and still an album that I'd recommend investing in. 'Empire' is most definitely deserving of a place in your personal music collection and tracks such as 'Empire', 'Shoot the Runner', and 'Stuntman' are all sure to please.
If you like indie rock with a definite English feel and vibe then you should well love the music of Kasabian. Kasabian is a great English indie rock band and the way in which eclectronica elements are brought into the mix also is just absolutely ingenious. 'Empire' provides for a fine 40 minutes of music and is an English rock album I'd certainly suggest is well worth owning.
