Who is Kat Bjelland, Riot Baby Doll

Babes in Toyland gained notoriety in 1992 with the album "Fontanelle".

They cannot be defined as a riot girl or punk band as they have a totally distictive style which brings them to draw some elements from metal as well, different from bands such as Bikini Kill or Bratmobile whose music reminds of punk... Fontanelle is a masterpiece, the best album recorded by Babes in Toyland. The connection that links Kat and Courtney can be noticed comparing the style of Hole's debut album and fontanelle, however "pretty on the inside" is more obscure, depressed, slow and grunge as opposed to the energy that comes out of fontanelle. In fact Kat was always one step ahead Courtney, and Courtney could not bear this. Courtney even started copying Kat's baby doll/whore style and attitude, but I believe these two musicians strongly influenced each other, and Kat was influenced by Courtney too and took inspiration from her. There are rumours about the song "Handsome and Gretel": some people say it is inspired to Courtney (Gretel) and Kurt Cobain (Handsome-eheh!).
