The idea for the concealer occurred during her work. Many times she comes along people that really want a tattoo, but are worried about a future wedding or job. But according to Kat they should not fear. Her concealer covers up the tattoos and leaves no stains.

- Hopefully you don't consider this to be an "overshare" but I have a small (tiny) pink megaphone tattoo on my lower left abdomen. Of course I had to see if this "tattoo" concealer would actually cover that up. I'd say it covered it up about 85%. Paired with some extra powder- I think this stuff could completely cover it up.

The other good thing about Sephora's Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer is that it's completely buildable without feeling heavy or looking cakey.
Great for Vitiligo
"I bought this product at Sophora and I am glad to say that I LOVE IT! Maybe Kat didn't invent it for vitiligo but it's the best I have tried and I've tried so many things! It is smudge proof and waterproof if you don't swim or use soap. Just use some translucent powder to set it, and boy, will you be impressed! I read on another site that it's only used for white people but it's not true. I am a shade darker than Halle Berry and I use Cocoa and that's it! A miracle! THANKS KAT!"
Verdict
There is a considerable amount of customers telling this product does not do a very good job at concealing tattoos. (Maybe a part of the users of this product have no experience with concealers at all and don't exactly know they are commonly used in combination with a translucent powder.)
On the other hand, there are also customers who are lyrical. Also among the more trustworthy reviews like the ones on Youtube without commercial ties.

How does Kat's Concealer Work for You?
"It takes quite a few layers to do so and the tattoo actually still shows through. The best way to cover it in less layers is to go over all the black and darker parts with a skin toned liner pencil first."
