A Breathtaking and Versatile Actress

Katharine Hepburn was one of my all time favorite actresses. She had been in a lot of movies, but my favorites were when she teamed up with Cary Grant in "Philadelphia Story" and "Bringing up Baby." Also I loved when she paired with Humphrey Bogart in "African Queen." That's not to mention the many movies she made with Spencer Tracy! I loved how she portrayed her own personality and wittiness. She didn't let men stop her from being herself. She was very talented and always made me want to keep watching her films. I can't say that about many of the actresses today!

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

The daughter of Christina Drayton (Katharine Hepburn) and Matt Drayton (Spencer Tracy) is in love with John Prentice (Sidney Poitier). This movie involves the conflict of the interracial couple trying to gain the favor of their parents. It's interesting to see how the couple in love is able to finally convince both sides that they were meant to be together.

Johnny Case (Cary Grant) is dating Julia Seton who is a daughter of a rich family. The parents want him to settle down and get serious if he wants to marry her. He decides that he's not ready to give up his young manhood to become tied down to heavy work. He wants to go on a long holiday instead and take it easy. He ends up finding his real love is with Julia's carefree sister, Linda (Katharine Hepburn).

Both characters disagree on many issues but end up with romantic feelings for each other.

    I have always liked Katherine Hepburn's personality on screen and off screen, she had such Confidence that you don't really see in actresses as much today!

    My favorite Katharine Hepburn movie is "Desk Set," but we recently watched "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" and she was brilliant in that. A true class act.

    I like Katharine Hepburn with Cary Grant. There's a couple that they do together and it seems like they had a good chemistry together. Jimmy Stewart was another nice part of Philadelphia Story. It made the movie very entertaining!
