Very interesting read. Love to hear about the journey of a fellow teacher. (I guess I'll do a lens on it sometime, who knows.) You may not be in a physical classroom, but you sure are in a cyber one. You continue to teach, just in a different platform and you excel at it. P.S. I too was put in an incubator. Did they cover your eyes? Many children have visual problems because they didn't.
  • spirituality Mar 21, 2012 @ 4:50 am | delete
I don't know that they covered my eyes, but since I still don't wear glasses (though the time is growing near), I don't think I suffered for it.

You grew up in Groningen? I was there a few years ago for a conference at the hospital. I loved that town. September was such a beautiful time to visit.

Hi Katinka! It was nice to have an introduction to another part of "you"! Thanks for sharing!
  • divacratus May 22, 2009 @ 5:36 pm | delete
Nice to meet you :) Thanks a lot for blessing my lens on crazy gadgets. I was going through a lot of your lenses today to get new ideas... the CSS codes one especially. Very helpful! Thanks a ton.

It's even more nice to know you like India and that you're planning to visit here soon. I love people who like India (not that I hate people who don't). And if you're into Bollywood music, you wouldn't want to miss out on A.R Rahman's tunes. We Indians all adore his music!

    Do stay the same!

    Cheers

Nice to meet you, Katinka. This is a great lens, as usual. Whenever I go to one of your lenses, I never know where I'll end up and usually I forget where I started :) but the trip was always interesting, informative and fun :)

Now I'm going off to one of your links and who knows where THAT will take me :) 5* as usual!

You have some great photos from childhood Katinka. You do seem a bit shy even in your earlier photos. I am happy to see that you are able to express yourself so well on Squidoo.
  • ThomasC Nov 28, 2008 @ 8:19 am | delete
I paid your lensography a visit and rewarded you with 5 stars and an Angel Blessing! Well done on it!

I can see why you loved those pictures of yourself! I love them, too!
  • spirituality Oct 19, 2008 @ 8:34 am | delete
Yes, those are wooden shoes. Never liked them much (and haven't worn them much sinces), but I guess this picture is evidence I did not adamantly refuse to wear them. Who'd have thought.
  • Jimmie Oct 18, 2008 @ 10:16 pm | delete
Love the clogs and the super short kiddie jumper!!! Are those wooden shoes???
  • GrowWear Oct 12, 2008 @ 6:28 pm | delete

Lots of interesting tidbits. That's cute sinatra said do be do be do. Not exactly philosophical by make me laugh. Your new camera looks cool. 5* And I voted for a lens for you to do lens of the day. I have been into spirituality since I was 5 (religion) and a teenager (explored new age concepts and haven't gone from that path)

Great lens! Thanks for the new pictures!

Also, a huge thank you for your thoughts. :)
  • clouda9 Aug 7, 2008 @ 1:57 am | delete
Besides your spectacular array of lenses here, what I honed in on was your happiness with your new digital camera. I really feel the same about my Kodak...learn something new everyday. My son showed me a connection on the camera that easily hooked up my collecting-dust-in-the-closet tripod. It stilled up the camera for excellent 'flower' shots. Thank you for sharing this lens and adding me to your 'Thank You'. SWAH

Hi, Katinka -- I feel like I already know you with all of the help that you have sent my way but it was very interesting to learn a bit about you beyond the world of Squidoo. Now I know you even better!

I haven't checked out all of your lenses yet so I cannot vote on my favorite but I'm going to be working on it. ~~ Brenda

P.S. Something is not quite right in the Stumbleupon section. A picture not working, maybe?
  • jasmineann Jul 5, 2008 @ 6:16 am | delete
Wonderful lensography! Lovely to read about you and to learn about all your lenses. Look forward to visiting more of them :)

I am into spirituality as a life-long journey. I think your Thank-you highlight to other Squidooers is a great idea! (My daughter is Eeelkat).I taught my kids in home-school, and am now teaching teen boys, (it's sort of like nailing jello to a tree)!
