She became famous when she started recording with Capitol Music Group. This was in 2007 and she released a single Ur So Gay which got a lot of success and positive feedback. After releasing her second single I Kissed A Girl she became even more known. This was in 2008. One Of The Boys is Katy's album released in 2008. It was such a big success that later was pronounced for the 30st best selling album all over the world in 2008. In 2010 she released another album. Teenage Dream is the name of it and it was also a big success. That she really is amazing singer and performer also facts like, that she sold over 7 million copies of albums and more than 31 million copies of her singles, show.

She is married to a comedian named Rusell Brand. They met in 2008 and started dating in September 2010. They got married in 2010 on the 23 of October. They married in India on the same location that Rusell asked her to marry him.

In the fall of 2010 her perfume called Purr came out. This perfume is being sold in the bottles that are in shapes of a cat.
