- 2:30 AM EST The French students at the hostel have started a street party with a homeless guy. His yelling was incorporated in my dream for a few minutes, and now I'm awake trying to understand him.
- 5:30 AM I'm awake. Might as well get up. The hostel was low on reservations so I had a 6-bed room to myself. I won't be that lucky every day, so I take my time getting showered and ready.
- 6:15 AM I head across the street to Broadway Bagels for a bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese. It's soooooo good, and I can only eat half.
- 6:40 AM It's raining. I've already seen Manhattan in the rain. Buy an umbrella, and promise not to leave this one on the subway. Also promise not to end up looking like a drowned meercat by the end of the day.
- 6:45 AM I walk down the street to Starbucks where I have guaranteed working internet, even though I had to pay for a 24-hour pass last night. Where's all the free WIFI? Thought I read somewhere that Seth likes vanilla soy lattes, so I try one. SO GOOD!
- 7:54 AM Ooh, fire trucks go by! I leave Starbucks to chase them because they've arrived close by. Weird. That's my hostel they're parked near...
- 8:05 AM Get on the subway to go downtown. It's PACKED!
- 8:40 AM Arrive upstairs at Times Square. Walk past Good Morning America filming, take tourist-obligated photos of famous ad-plastered buildings.
- 8:59 AM Duck into nail salon on 5th Avenue for a French manicure.
- 9:40 AM Just got a hand massage, French manicure, and back rub for $15. Feeling pretty good about myself.
- 9:55 AM Arrive at Grand Central Station, and miss out on opportunity to photograph six people standing on the main concourse balcony, taking photos.
- 10:15 AM After wandering around the dining concourse, I settle on a fresh croissant from Zaro's Bakery. It's perfect.
- 10:41 AM Have an hour and a half before I need to catch the train to Irvington. Hrm...what kind of trouble can I get into?
Photos I took in NYC
Of course, I have to share photos! Check back here for new uploads.
