Make beautiful music

I am fairly gifted in that if you give me long enough, I can play a piece of music by figuring it out on my own.  However some of the tricky stuff and harmony is a lot easier (and faster) with the help of sheet music.

With the help of the Internet, you no longer have to dig through boxes and piles at music stores to find the sheet music you want.  At most sites you can even download entires scores in PDF version, and at many you can get a free sample of the music.

These are some of my favorite sheet music scores with a alternatives for purchasing and downloading each. You'll see that most is for piano or violin, but can easily be transposed for any other instrument or voice.

Last of the Mohicans Music Score

Disappointingly enough, I haven't been able to find the full score for my number one favorite movie soundtrack of all time. Here are a few tastes of what the score includes, while I scour the Net for more.

Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Score

The Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack is really beautiful if you get a chance to listen to it just on its own, outside the movie. It makes a great piano or violin solo, or piano-violin duet.

Forrest Gump Movie Score

The Forrest Gump title score is perfect for a piano solo or with string accompaniment.

Titanic Movie Score

The Titanic score is a classic. There are several easy piano arrangements available and even the horn accompaniments sound great with strings.

Beauty and the Beast Music Score

It isn't hard to hear why the Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack won so many music awards. Even though it's meant to be a kids movie, this is one of my favorite scores.

Find rare and inexpensive sheet music on eBay

eBay is a great place to find inexpensive and obscure sheet music, and there are many sheet music brokers you can follow or contact with your wishlist.

Metallica Popular Sheet Music

It might sound strange but Metallica's most famous songs sound great on piano and especially great on strings. (Think Apocalyptica solo.) The music is arranged for very easy play, and the first book below has a great assortment of their hits.

Classical and Instrumental Singles

Free Classical Pieces from 8notes.com

If you don't mind printing sheet music graphics from the website, 8notes.com is a great place to find simple compositions of popular classical music pieces. To access PDF downloads and more of the site, you can register for a $20 per year membership which covers nearly every feature on the site.

Assorted Country Song Scores

Some of the best country songs also sound great as a piano, violin, or flute solo.

    YES!! and anything by Mozart, Tarrega, or Harry S. Beethoven! You gotta watch some old victor borge movies!

    I learned to play the piano from a young age, beethoven, bach and brahms and then I found rock'n'roll. Meatloaf, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Elton John and countless others sheet music was hard to come by then when you lived 30 miles from any music store. Thanks for sharing...look forward to returning soon!
