The foot is supported has maximum comfort based on the compression molded EVA midsole in the sandal.  The Newport sandal will have a quick and snug fit, due to the elastic closure with cord lock. This will not reduce flexibility. Waterproof nubuck leather on the uppers will wrap around the foot to give stability, while at the same time allow ventilation. If you plan on going out at night, the sandal has 3M reflective pull tabs, which will provide added visibility. Toe guards can be found on the sandal which means you will not have to worry about your toes. Finally moisture and odor are controlled by anti-microbial EVA footbeds.

When it comes to cleaning the Keen Newport Sandal, it should not be a problem. These sandals can be machine washed and they have been treated with ÆGIS Microbe Shield®, antimicrobial technology that helps stop staining, odor, and deterioration.  The company has taken great care to ensure that the uppers will not stretch, crack or shrink when they are washed. If being cleaned in a washing machine, it is good to do it on a gentle cycle and allow the sandals to air dry.
