Why Keep Maroon Clowns ?
Maroon Clowns are rich intense red in colour also later in life they will change to deep rustic colour but due to there attractive beauty they will cost a little more than there relatives. Maroon Clowns can grow to a large size of 16cm (6.3inches). They can be aggressive to others of its own kind will and will not interact with Radianthus species but will with Stoicactis species. Try to put them will other fish of the same size as them but not smaller as they will bully them.

Maroon Clowns need at least 30 gallon marine tank.
The marine tank water quality is listed below:
1. Filtration for marine tank.
2. pH level of 8.1 to 8.4
3. The Specific Gravity at 1.020 - 1.025.
4. The water temperature needs to be 75°F - 82°F (25°C - 28°C).
5. They will all so need some natural Living Rock.
6. They may also have Bubble Tip Anemone.
7. They will also need a protein skimmer.

When coming to buy Maroon Clowns it is important to have the best water condition that you can get. To do so I would do small water changes over a week. As well, you will need to be sure that you have some feed for them.

Before buy any
Maroon Clowns are best brought as a pre- made pair or buy them young in group at the shop. If you buy them as a adult pair to are guaranteed that there will be no fight. Yet is you are going to buy two from a group you will need to buy two that seem to follow each other meaning that they are interacting well. From this you will gain that there will be no fighting and that they will grow up together to a large pair.

Releasing your brought Maroon Clowns into your Aquarium !
Part 1
Usually when you buy a Maroon Clowns from a aquatics shop they usually fill the plastic bag with some water from the tank and add some compressed air into the plastic bag. Then they ever tie the bag with a knot or elastic bands.
Part 2
When I have brought the Maroon Clowns and travelled home I will get a pair of scissor , a measuring jug and the magnet glass cleaner . Next I will place the Maroon Clown in its bag into the aquarium and cut open the top. Next I would place the magnet glass cleaner in side the plastic bag so that the open top of the bag is above water level. This is allowing your new Maroon to adjust to the different water temperatures.
Part 3
Once you have completed part 1 and 2 you may follow part 3.
First I will fill the measuring jug full of your marine water. Then you should add 200ml to every 5 minutes for an hour.
Part 4
Finally your new Maroon Clown would be now be ready to be released into your quarantine aquarium if you don't have a quarantine aquarium, you may release the Maroon Clown into your normal aquarium. To do so you will need to carefully open the opened end so that the Maroon Clown is able to swim into your quarantine aquarium or normal aquarium.

After a while the 2 Maroon Clowns should of got use to each other. You will need to net the new Maroon Clown and add it into the same part as your original Maroon Clown (Leave tank divider for now). If they do fight you can net the new Maroon Clown and places it behind the tank divider. You may try to add them together again but if it still happens more than 4 times you will need to buy another Maroon Clown and repeat these instructions again with the new Maroon Clown.

Feeding your Maroon Clown:Part 1
The first thing your will need to do is to get your small plastic cup and open your freezer to get out the frozen Mysis. I find the easiest way to get the Mysis cubes out of the plastic packaging is to run tap water over the back of the clear plastic spot where you should see the Frozen Mysis Cube. Next peel away the tin foil from above the cube and gently push the back of the clear plastic spot where you should see the Frozen Mysis Cube into the Plastic cup. Next open the lid of the aquarium and scoop some water from the aquarium into your cup with out the Mysis cube floating out of the cup. You will now need to leave your Mysis with the water in the plastic cup so that the Mysis cube has dissolved. Finally once the Mysis Cube has dissolved you will need to open the aquarium lid and pour the contained mixture in to the water. You will need to repeat these instructions twice every day, one Mysis cube at morning and one Mysis cube at night.

The first step is to choose your stock. I recommend buying a pair of Maroon Clowns or choose have the 2 largest Maroon Clowns out of the same aquarium. You also must have a cave or host Bubble Tip Anemone.
Part 2:
Next you must prepare for the Maroon Clowns by getting a small larvae tank that goes into the tank or another aquarium with a marine set-up that is mature but not with a filter. The larvae tank should have high blacked out sides, good lighting and a continuous flow of fine air bubbles. As a general rule, the tank should be at least 10 gallons in size with 30 to 50 being preferred for bigger spawns. The tank can be a simple affair with a heater and an air stone leaving the bottom bare to ensure for easy maintenance. Obviously the water quality needs to be exactly the same in the larvae tank as it is in the main tank.
Part 3:
Use a plant pot or slate for the eggs to be layed on. Once the eggs on the object have been layed or the eggs has hatched, place them into a separate to do that, use a flash light so that they a drawn to light then carefully siphoned out of the main tank. Do not use a net, as this will damage their incredible delicate bodies into a place were the adult's can't eat them.
Part 4:
Feeding the larvae seems to be the hardest part. Larvae Maroon Clowns should be fed as a first food with baby brine shrimp being feed around day 4. On day 10-15 try pulverized flake food and blended food like shrimp or scallop.
Part 5:
Once the young receive their colour when they are about 1/4" to 1/2" long at which stage they can be moved to a filtered tank.
