Can you keep weight off during Christmas time?

Christmas - a holiday season, a season of love, sharing and giving, and a seasons of - weight gain! That pretty much happens to everyone after a holiday season is over. Nobody can resist the temptation of Christmas foods, right? That is why a lot of people gain weight during Christmas. And if you are not cautious about the way you eat, what you eat, and how much you eat, don't be surprised that the pounds will stay on for weeks after Christmas.

However, you don't have to feel depress thinking that, "Oh, so I can only eat those boring, low-calorie foods during Christmas. What a MERRY Christmas!" ;) There are ways for you enjoy Christmas food and still keep weight under control.


Keep weight off by eating moderately and having self-control 

Remember this: putting on weight is a lost easier than losing it! So first of all, don't think because it is Christmas that you should let yourself get loose and get wild, and eat just about everything you could lay your hands on.

Know what you can eat, and what you should not.



Exercise a bit of self-control, eat only foods you like the most and skip the rests. The likelihood of gaining weight is still there, but it will be minimal.

Enjoy what you eat 

Believe it or not, many of us end up overeating more to fulfill cravings or gain comfort from foods rather than out of hunger! You can avoid this from happening by enjoying what you eat, every bite of it! When you enjoy your meals - just a small portion of each course or dish if you want to eat EVERYTHING - you will quickly feel full. Have you ever noticed that when you feel down and depressed, you feel hungry more easily? So, always keep yourself in a good mood to help keep weight off during Christmas.

Exercise to keep weight off 

It is always a good way to keep weight off even if it's not Christmas

It sure is a holiday, but it doesn't mean you will stick to your couch, relax and watch TV for the whole day. Making some time for work out (even simple ones) will not spoil your Christmas fun. You don't have to exercise in the gym or do some heavy-duty exercises. Just a 30-minute brisk-walking session in the park will definitely help burn some of the extra calories you took in.
