Matt's been carrying the team on his back all season long, and came closer to winning the Triple Crown than anyone since 1967 (or 1937 in the NL).

9/28: While Jose Reyes was sitting out his game to hold onto his batting average after bunting in the first to pass Braun, Matt Kemp was still playing in a meaningless game in the bottom of the 9th in the outfield, after his final at-bat of the season. During that series, Mattingly consulted with Kemp and did NOT move him to bat leadoff, because it would've been putting a player's stats ahead of the game. Kemp agreed. (Source: New York Times)
Kemp homered in that game to break his HR tie with Prince Fielder, and homered in the first game of 2012 (and the last game of 2010). So? The Dodgers only played 161 games in 2011. Kemp's 2011 totals were 39 HRs, 40 stolen bases.
April 2012: That's okay. Matt's off to a good start in 2012: 9HRs, 22RBIs, .450 BA in first 16 games. NL player of the week for 3 weeks in a row, the first player EVER to do that. However, there's one... little... problem...
