We here in southern Ohio, don't all have fond memories junior. and much of it , not his fault. when he came to the reds after 1999, the reds had just missed the playoffs.and after his arrival things went down hill fast. ownership quit spending money. 30% of the budget spent on him, then the injuries piled up. but in my opinion Griffey was not a leader, in fact is laid back style and entitlement style in the club house.which rubbed off on players like Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns. Have you noticed as soon as Griffey and Dunn were unloaded, the reds starting winning. Yes i know , the Reds have better pitching now. they also have better hard nosed players like Jonny Gomes and Scott Rolen to set the tone in the club house. we know what happened in Seattle last year. griffey falling a sleep in the club house during a game. that was the kind of crap he pulled with the reds. I only wish I could have enjoyed The Kid. the kid who played before he got to Cincinnati, one good thing about Ken, he never used steroids. and that does mean something. I wish i could be more positive, but it is what it is, we lived through it here.
