Muppet Movie - The Rainbow Connection
"The Rainbow Connection" was written for The Muppet Movie and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song in 1979. It is sung by Kermit as the movie's opening number and reprised by the whole cast of Muppets at the end of the movie. The single of this song reached #25 on Billboard's "Hot 100 Singles" chart in 1979. Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some choose to believe it. I know they're wrong wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. Who said that wishes would be heard and answered when wished on the morningstar? Kermit the Frog: The Facts
Kermit the Frog is one of puppeteer Jim Henson's most famous Muppet creations, first introduced in 1955. Kermit was performed by Henson until his death in 1990. Since then he has been performed by Steve Whitmire. He was voiced by Frank Welker in Muppet Babies and occasionally in animation. Kermit's iconic look and voice are recognizable worldwide, and In 2006, the character was credited as the author of Before You Leap: a frogs eye view of life's greatest lessons, which is an "autobiography" told from the perspective of the character himself, which was published by Wiley, John & Sons, Incorporated, in addition to appearing in various sketches in Sesame Street and various commericals and PSAs over the years. The character regards Fozzie Bear as his best friend- a fact reiterated by Kermit in Before You Leap- and the two were frequently seen together during sketches on The Muppet Show and other Muppet related media and merchandise. The character is known to sing, and also performed a hit single, The Rainbow Connection in the 1970s, which was used in the first feature-length Muppet movie, The Muppet Movie''.
