This is a light hearted romance novel. If you are looking for sexy, romantic fun "How To Marry A Millionaire Vampire" by Kerrelyn Sparks will be an enjoyable read. The emphasis heavy on romance and the sex is HOT but not overly graphic.
There is NO Gore in this book. So if you are looking for chilling paranormal, blood sucking vampire thrills this book is not for you.
Romantic and funny with plenty of action to keep you turning pages. This is a light, yet thoroughly enjoyable book. Pure entertainment.

"Vamps And The City" Review...
A lighthearted, comedic vampire romance novel where the supporting cast steals the show. There are plenty of humorous bits in this book and it did keep me chuckling through out but the main characters leave something to be desired.
I found Darcy and Austin's relationship to be ubber superficial. I know a lot of romance books tend to be "love (or lust) at first sight" but this one never developed past that. Absolutely no substance to their relationship, in or out of bed, even at the end of the book.
Also, even though this is intended to simply be a bit of light reading and not trying to be great literature or anything... but still, I think Darcy is to be too whiney to be a true heroine. Both her and Austin's inability to accept that she is a vampire is annoying.
A true hero or heroine should accept/love themselves exactly as they are (or come to over the course of the story) and not mope about and carry on because they or their lives are not what they expected them to be. A positive message like that is one of the reasons many of us read romance novels.
Vampire fanatics (and I say that with love) may not like this book very much. Fans of Kerrelyn Sparks or those who like fluffy romantic comedy will most likely enjoy this book.

"Be Still My Vampire Heart" Review...
The best of Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" series to date. The characters are well developed and have a chance to "grow" as the story unfolds. Of course the issue at hand is can a mortal and a vampire live happily ever after?
One problem I had with the book was Emma's lack of savvy when it came to crime fighting. Yes, she knew her martial arts and could sink a stake into a vampires heart but from the simple mistakes she often made it was hard to believe Emma was trained by the same people who trained James Bond. Not a biggie as this is a ROMANCE story but still a bit annoying.
A stand alone book in the midst of a series. Readers of previous "Love At Stake" books will enjoy catching up with old friends but new readers who start here will not be lost, confused or feel left out because they started the series "In The Middle". This blending of old friends as supporting characters into new stories is something Kerrelyn Sparks does very well.
Hard core vampire horror fans will probably be disappointed by this offering. It is not edgy, there's no gore in this book this however I consider a bonus for readers of romance novels.
A great mixture of action, humor and romance "Be Still My Vampire Heart" is light without being fluffy. It has a good plot, plenty of Ms. Sparks trademark humor and just enough sexy bits to keep you turning pages. The sex scenes are HOT without being too graphic. All in all a really good story and a fun read.

"The Undead Next Door" is the fourth book Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" series. It is a lighthearted vampire romance novel that can stand alone. Fans of the series will enjoy meeting "old friends" from previous books and folks who read them out of order (like I did) will not find themselves lost.
Not as comedic as book two of the series "Vamps And The City" yet still it made me smile. And unlike book 2... The characters in this book are well thought out and their relationship grows over time in a realistic way.
Lovers of vampire horror beware! This is not an edgy book, it is relatively angst free and there is no gore. If you're into "classic" vampire tales this book will disappoint.
I found this book to be light and fluffy without being saccharin sweet. Folks who enjoy a light hearted romantic romp or those who like sexy romantic vampires will enjoy this book. The supporting characters are amusing and the sex scenes are hot without being overly graphic.

Fans of Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" series will have come to know and love little Ian MacPhie. Poor fellow's been locked in the body of a 15 year old for the last 500+ years. I'm sure you've thought about how bad it would suck to become immortal at the wrong age. But if you're like me you only though how bad it would be to be an old lady for all time. But now that I think about it being stuck too young would be just as bad if not worse.
Luckily all that changed for Ian in "The Undead Next Door". By helping his friend Jean-Luc guard his mortal girlfriend during the day he ages 12 years in 12 days. Now he's got the manly physique and face he's always wanted and he's got true love on his mind.
Unfortunately his new grown up looks and size have drawbacks of their own. He is constantly tripping over his feet, his friends don't recognize him and he's no closer to knowing how to find true love then he was before he looked old enough to drink a beer. Add to that the ridiculous attraction he has for the off limits new mortal security guard Toni and it's enough to make any vamp nuts.
The new characters introduced in this book give hints to the direction future books by Ms. Sparks may take. The delicious Carlos and the wacky Teddy have me wondering what will be next.
This 5th book in Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" series is a fun read. Fans will not be disappointed and new readers will be sucked in by the charming characters both old and new. Though it is not necessary to have read the previous 4 books to enjoy this delightful romp after you read this charmer you'll want to.
As with all the previous books in Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" series there is no gore in this book though there is some violence and blood. The sex is HOT without being too graphic. If you are looking for true Vampire horror you should give this book a miss. But if you are a lover of romance stories and don't mind the hero being a sexy vampire you will enjoy "All I Want For Christmas Is A Vampire" very much.

"Secret Life Of A Vampire" sucks you in right from the start when the mortal cops get called to a vampire bachelor party. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem but Jack can't wipe the memory's of sexy officer Lara Boucher. How on earth will he explain the blood splattered everywhere from the spilled Bleer and Blisky, not to mention the "blood brothers" ceremony gone awry?
What's a poor girl to do? Lara is working so hard to become a detective with the NYPD and if she includes what she saw at the bachelor party on her report when her partner, the hotel staff and the paramedics don't remember it taking place, everyone will question her sanity. And after struggling for 6 years to recover from head trauma due to an auto accident, that is the last thing she needs right now.
Just because she can't include the incident on her official report doesn't mean a girl has to let the matter go. In fact if the girl in question is bucking for a detectives badge you can bet your bottom dollar she won't. And what she finds out about Giacomo (Jack to his English speaking friends) Casanova makes her head spin. Can he be a space alien like her room mate suggests?
Much as I love Scottish Highlanders and look forward to more romance for them from Kerrelyn Sparks it was nice to visit a different culture in this book. What a cool twist to see an insecure Casanova! Yes, Giacomo Casanova is the illegitimate son of THE Casanova of legend. He's every bit as suave and sexy as his famous father but he's looking for true love not a one night stand.
Unfortunately the woman he falls for is another fragile mortal. The first two loves in his life were mortal women who fled from him in terror when they learned he was a vampire. Could Lara be different? She already knows he has "Super Powers" and that doesn't frighten her. Could she be the one? But since he can't erase her memory, if he takes the chance and is wrong the whole vampire world could be exposed...
This is a delightful romantic romp. It furthers the plot line that's been running in the background of all Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" books quite nicely. "Secret Life Of A Vampire" brings in the supporting cast of old friends we've come to know and love quite well without letting them take over the story.
If you are looking for a lot of angst, grittiness or gore you'll be disappointed. There is none in this book. However if you are looking for a sexy, fun, comedic vampire romance novel you'll be delighted and glad you picked up this book. All in all a very fun read.
P.S. The sex in this book is HOT without being overly graphic.

Forbidden Nights With A Vampire" Review
In "Forbidden Nights With A Vampire" Kerrelyn Sparks breaks away from the usual format for her "Love At Stake" books. She shakes things up without losing any of her humor or pizzazz and comes up with a exciting and romantic story.
Instead of a lovely human female falling for a sexy male vampire we have a lady Vamp finding love with a Werewolf Alpha Male. This gives Ms. Sparks the opportunity to explore the shifter world in much more depth than in previous books in this series. Giving the daytime guards an opportunity to grow into full fledged characters. And a fascinating world it is, too. I can't wait to read more about them.
Another deviation was the amount of action in this vampire romance novel. The background stories about the war with the evil vamp "Malcontents" is advanced much more than in any previous book. A big plus for me.
Secondary characters like Phineas, aka Dr. Phang, got a chance to shine with some sweet and humorous bits that make them more real and set up opportunities for future vampire romance novels in this series. Also, the school for "unusual" children subplot is moving forward quite nicely so we should see a novel about that in the future.
As with all "Love At Stake" vampire romance novels by Kerrelyn Sparks, "Forbidden Nights With A Vampire" is a sweetly sexy story with HOT sex that's not overly graphic. There is no vampire "gore" or horror in book.
Each offering in the "Love At Stake" series makes the world a richer more interesting place. With more story opportunities at every turn. I for one can't wait.

"The Vampire And The Virgin" Review...
This was the first book by Kerrelyn Sparks that I ever read. When I started it I didn't know there was a "Love At Stake" series and it didn't matter. This book stood alone and sucked me right in. When I was done I was eager to read the rest of the series.
Light but not fluffy this is a very good vampire romance novel. A few of the scenes are a tad unrealistic but then we are talking about vampires here so....
As is usual with Kerrelyn's books "The Vampire And The Virgin" is sexy and hot without being overly graphic. Her vampires know exactly how to please a woman and do so with style gusto. Must be all those years to practice but in any case we all wish our men were as skilled.
A little more serious then previous books in the "Love At Stake" series but still not "DARK". Fans of vampire horror won't like this book much and in fact I dubbed it "Silence Of The Lambs LITE" because it did remind me of that movie. There is no real blood and gore in this book even though there is much more in this one than in previous offerings by Ms. Sparks.
If you like your vampires sexy and romantic... Your heroines smart and independent... you'll enjoy this book.

My Favorite of The "Love At Stake" Series by Kerrelyn Sparks
A great mixture of action, humor and romance "Be Still My Vampire Heart" is light without being fluffy. It has a good plot, plenty of Ms. Sparks trademark humor and just enough sexy bits to keep you turning pages. The sex scenes are HOT without being too graphic. All in all a really good story and a fun read.
