Welcome to my Lensography!
I'm Kerry and I've been a Lensmistress since October 2006. I have a nearly endless list of interests, the vast majority of which aren't yet reflected by my Lenses here at Squidoo. I'm working on that though. :)
I recently joined HubPages and ehow, and as of February 2008, have started to donate some of my profits to Kiva.

My Five Most Popular Lenses Today!
Fetching RSS feed... please stand byAnimals and Nature
I grew up in a family of hikers and gardeners with two dogs, six cats, and a devout and never realized wish for a horse, so I have always loved animals and nature pretty much the way I breath air.
Arts and Literature
I wish there were some way to measure how much I've my life I've spent with my nose in a book. It would be a lot! My favorite genres include historical fiction, mysteries, children's fantasy, classics, and nonfiction in general.

Cars and Trucks
HAHAHAHA!!!
I learned to drive age 24. That should say it all.

Computers, Gadgets, and Tech
I consider myself more of an internet addict than a computer geek per se, but hey, you never know!
DIY and Hobbies
My parents would be at work in their garden 100% of the time, if they could get away with it. I'm not that dedicated, but I enjoy it and am a bit of a crusader for organic and natural gardening, especially tallgrass prairie restoration.
Entertainment
Food and Cooking
Health and Medicine
I'm dislike doctors as a rule, yet somehow ended up married to one. Go figure.
How-To and Education
I was homeschooled from 6-12th grade and will probably homeschool my own daughter, so I remain intensely interested in education. I built a Lens to share some of my own family's homeschool experience.
Movies and TV
I love movies, but don't watch much television, although every now and then a show comes along that glues me to the television like a barnacle at least once a week. Currently, that's the CW's Supernatural.
A Few of My Favorite Movies
Music
I love music and have picky but eclectic taste. My favorite styles are classical, opera, classic rock, folk, and Broadway musicals, but I like something from just about everything.

A Few of My Favorite Charities

I've also been to France and lived for four months in St. Petersburg, Russia during my junior year of college.

My Hubs
You can also visit me on HubPages. Here is a selection of my best hubs:
- Home Remedies for Painful Periods
- There are many home remedies that can help relieve painful periods, and some that might even cure them.
- Investing in Women for a Better World
- Around the world, more and more governments and organizations have begun to recognize that women are not only more likely than men to suffer the effects of extreme poverty, they are also the key to ending poverty, for themselves, their families, their communities, and their countries.
- Bison Ranching For Beginners
- Bison is the fastest growing meat market in the United States today, as more and more consumers discover the delicious taste and many health and environmental benefits of bison meat.
- Plant a Bee Garden
- Beneficial bees are necessary to the success of gardens, orchards, and farms, but their numbers are in decline around the world. A bee garden is a beautiful and fragrant way to lend a helping hand.
- Trees For the World
- Deforestation is one of the most urgent environmental problems today, because it affects both human and environmental health in surprising ways.
- Making Desktop Wallpapers in Photoshop
- There are easier ways to get a desktop wallpaper for your computer than to make your own, but making your own is, in my opinion, the most fun. If you know the basics of Photoshop, it's really easy too.

- So happy to meet someone else who hates shopping, except I don't even enjoy book shopping anymore, since, as a bookseller, I have enough to last as long as I can still read.
