Review of Baby Boa 1585BR Folding Knife
Definitely, the selling point of the Baby Boa is its incredible design and finish. Cute is the word that comes to my mind when I look this knife. However, there is more in the Baby boa that its looks. The blade is strong and sharp with an S-shape design that it is great for light duty. The knife opens smoothly and fast and locks open safely. The size is small, just 2 ¾ in. closed, perfect to carry in your pocket. And Kershaw back it up with a limited lifetime warranty. On the whole, another nice looking, but functional folding knife by Kershaw.
Features & Specifications
Blade: the blade is made of Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel a quality steel that is a good compromise between edge retention, easy of sharpen and rust resistance. The blade is razor-sharp out of the box and its S-shaped design is great to cut cardboard, ropes or anything that is hanging. The downside of this S-shape design, called recurve, is that these blades are a little difficult to sharpen. Besides, the blade comes with a nice looking polished finish that helps to prevent corrosion.
Handle: The grip of the Baby Boa is surprisingly good considering the tiny size of the knife. The handle material is anodized aluminium with a smoked finish. This means that it is mainly red with some black mixed in. This anodizing process yields random results, so there are not two knives alike.
Speedsafe: It is the assisted opening system. It is called Speedsafe because the torsion bar helps to maintain the blade closed preventing it from being opened by accident.
Lock liner: A safety measure to lock the blade open when the blade is deployed.
Pocket clip: In this knife the pocket clip is removable.
