cup of coffeeI must admit that when my daughter first started showing me her new Coffee Maker I was a little skeptical. Her Keurig Coffee System is very nicely made but I was thinking old school and thought it would be much cheaper to make a whole pot of coffee. You know, thinking like a Mom!

As she made our coffee for us on Sunday morning my mind was changed. It was so nice to not have to compromise on a flavor! I actually tried 2 flavors and so did my husband. There was no muss and no fuss. Each of us got to enjoy a flavor without brewing an entire pot of coffee and the only dishes that had to be washed were the coffee cups we drank from.

Yes, I thought but the coffee is probably outrageously expensive! Thinking like a Mother again, I was. I've done some research to do this lens and I'm impressed because for the most part a cup costs you about $.50. That really isn't that bad when you consider that it would cost much more than that if you stopped on your way to work to get a cup of coffee. And there is the convenience of everyone getting to choose if they want coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

Moral of the story: Daughters can teach a Mother a thing or two if we will just listen.

I do have this accessory for my Keurig and it is a nice option to use ground coffee that you purchase by the can. It is a little messy to use and I'm seriously thinking of purchasing a second one to save time if both my husband and I want a cup of regular coffee. The company now sells the filter in a two pack.

Personal Recommendation:

I personally recommend that you use distilled water in your Keurig Single Serve Brewer, especially if you live in a hard water area. It keeps the lime from building up in your machine and the water flavor does not detract from the flavor of your coffee.

My daughter has sold me on this coffee maker and the advantages of doing a single serving whether it be coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Less waste in our house with just the two of us and we can enjoy the flavor we like the most without guilt. I also like the socially conscious efforts of the companies involved with this product.
