Kevin Harvick History:

A born racer!

For kindergarten graduation in 1980, Harvick received a go-kart and began his racing career. In the 10 years that he competed on the go-kart circuit, Harvick earned seven National Championships and two Grand National Championships. During that time, he also learned the value of dedication and discovered the joy of success that would transform into fierce determination that defines Kevin Harvick.

Harvick left the go-kart circuit to begin competing in the local Late Model Series before moving on to the Featherlite Southwest Series - a regional touring division of NASCAR - in 1992. While completing high school, Harvick ran a limited schedule for two seasons and then in 1995, was back on track competing in a full season and earning Rookie of the Year honors.

Deciding to pursue a career in racing rather than study architecture in college, Harvick progressed to the Winston West Series. Two years later, Harvick won five races on his way to the 1998 Winston West Series championship.

A brief stint in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series introduced Harvick to acclaimed car owner Richard Childress. Childress, having seen potential in Harvick's hard-charging driving style, offered him a ride in the Nationwide Series. Harvick accepted the offer.

In February of 2000, the blue-and-white ACDelco Monte Carlo pulled out of the garage area at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway with rookie Kevin Harvick behind the wheel. A remarkable two-year campaign in the Nationwide Series had begun. Harvick won three races and finished third in the points on his way to the Rookie of the Year title. On the track, he was known for his aggressive driving, but off the track his affable attitude and ever-present smile earned him the nickname "Happy."

Harvick began 2001 as the favorite for the Nationwide Series title, and completed the year a Sprint Cup Series superstar.

But then Tragedy

The Death of a Legend, starts a new career.

After losing Dale Earnhardt in a wreck on the final lap of the Daytona 500, car owner Richard Childress asked Harvick to assume driving duties for the GM Goodwrench Service Plus Monte Carlo on the Sprint Cup circuit. Despite the intense schedule and difficulty of driving full-time in two series, Harvick agreed and began the most incredible year of his life.

For having started on such a terrible note, the 2001 racing season was one of the most memorable of Harvick's career - both personally and professionally. On February 28, 2001, Harvick married DeLana Linville, whom he calls his "best friend," in a beautiful Las Vegas ceremony.

The begining of a Sprint Cup career

2001 - 2010

Despite not having time for a honeymoon, in 2001, Kevin and DeLana's first year of marriage was filled with incredible moments that DeLana called "wedding presents."

Those "wedding presents" included two Sprint Cup Series wins - the first coming in Harvick's third start - and a Nationwide Series championship, which Harvick earned on the strength of 20 top-five finishes and five wins. Harvick also earned Rookie of the Year honors on the Sprint Cup circuit, finishing ninth in the point standings. Harvick became the first driver in NASCAR history to run full time on both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup circuits - a total of 70 races - in one season, and the first to be named Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year the same season that he earned the Nationwide Series championship.

The next year, KHI fielded its first full-time Nationwide Series team, winning the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway with Tony Stewart behind the wheel. The 2005 season was also successful for KHI's truck team, as they finished fourth in points, winning an event at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Since his start in NASCAR's premier racing series 10 years ago, Harvick has had many memorable career moments. He is currently one of only 21 drivers who have won a race in each of the National Series (Truck, Nationwide and Sprint Cup).
Harvick went on to win his second Nationwide Series championship in 2006, competing in all 35 events. He recorded nine victories, 23 top-five and 32 top-10 finishes, holding an average finish of 4.6, all the while competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He earned five victories, 15 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes, and finished fourth in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Adding to his career highlights, Harvick kicked off the 2007 season on a high note as he swept the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series events at Daytona International Speedway, claiming the elusive Daytona 500 title. Harvick went on to finish the 2007 Nationwide Series season fourth in the Owner's Point standings after visiting victory lane six times and earning 11 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes in only 26 starts. At the same time, Harvick competed full time in the Sprint Cup Series, winning not only the season opener Daytona 500, but also winning the All-Star Challenge before finishing the season 10th in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Topping off the year, Harvick and wife DeLana became Championship Owners as Ron Hornaday and KHI's No. 33 Camping World Truck Series team claimed the 2007 NASCAR Truck Series championship.

In the fall of that same year, Kevin and DeLana ran their first Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The truck, built in a friend's garage, set the stage for what is now a full-fledge racing operation. In August of 2004, Kevin and DeLana opened what is now over an 80,000 square foot facility in Kernersville, N.C., that became the home of KHI.

The 2008 season proved to be another year for the record books for Harvick. He raced his way to his third consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship, capping the year off with five top-five and 19 top-10 finishes on his way to matching his career best fourth-place finish in the final Sprint Cup point standings. On the Nationwide front, Harvick made the decision to drive only for KHI, finishing the season seventh in the Owner's Point standings and secured one pole, eight top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in 22 starts. Harvick did visit victory lane in 2008, behind the wheel of the No. 2 KHI Silverado truck at Phoenix International Raceway.

Continuing his success in 2009, Harvick made his mark on all three of NASCAR's elite Series on his way to helping solidify KHI as a top team in the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series. Harvick kicked off the Sprint Cup Series season by winning the 2009 Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway and after a year of changes at RCR, ended the season with five top-five and nine top-10 finishes. Turning his attention to KHI, Harvick returned to the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet Impala and at one of his most successful tracks, Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, notched his first Nationwide Series win in a KHI-owned car. In a total of 22 starts during the 2009 Nationwide Series season, Harvick was able to score two victories, including his first Nationwide Series win at Atlanta Motor Speedway, two poles, 14 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes. With the help of Harvick's stellar stats, the No. 33 KHI Nationwide Series team finished the 2009 season fourth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Owner's Point standings.

In addition to running in the Nationwide Series in 2009, Harvick also ran six races in the Camping World Truck Series claiming three wins, six top-five and six top-10 finishes. Of his three wins, he added his first set of back-to-back wins and first win on a 1.5-mile track by earning victories at the final two events of the season, Phoenix International Raceway and Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. While Harvick was making "guest" appearances in the Truck Series and walking away with wins, his KHI teammate, Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 KHI Truck Series team were making history of their own and made Harvick and wife DeLana two-time Truck Series Championship owners.

To cap the 2009 season, Harvick was named the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver of the decade with two series titles in the decade - 2006 and '01 - and was named the series' Raybestos Rookie of the Year in 2000. During the decade, Harvick led all NASCAR Nationwide drivers with 34 wins.

The 2010 season brought Harvick continued success. In the Sprint Cup Series, the driver experienced his career-best season. With three wins, 16 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes, Harvick led the point standings throughout the majority of the 36-race season before landing third in the final standings. Harvick kept busy by staying behind the wheel of the No. 33 Chevrolet in the Nationwide Series. He took the KHI flagship car to the winner's circle three times and with a record of 17 top-five and 26 top-10 results, Harvick ended the season sixth in Driver Point standings and an organization-best third in the final Owner Point standings. The driver also competed in six Truck Series events throughout the season. Out of the six starts, Harvick captured three wins, five top-five and five top-10 finishes and one pole award.

Budweiser shifts sponsorship to Kevin Harvick for 2011

The "Big" Sponsor in all of Motorsports

CHARLOTTE - Budweiser has teamed with Kevin Harvick, and RCR Racing as a primary sponsor for most of the 2011 season.

Budweiser said Tuesday its familiar red paint scheme will be on Harvick's No. 29 Chevrolet for 20 races next season, as well as the non-points events at Daytona and the annual All-Star race. The beer company will be an associate sponsor on the remaining 16 Sprint Cup races.

"Budweiser's involvement in NASCAR dates back more than three decades, and we're excited to have as successful a driver as Kevin Harvick to usher in a new era for Budweiser," said Mark Wright, vice president of media, sports & entertainment marketing for Anheuser-Busch.

Harvick and Richard Childress Racing lost current sponsor Shell-Pennzoil in April, and Harvick responded by snapping a 115-race winless streak that same week at Talladega.
Budweiser began looking for a new driver at the same time.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s move in 2008 to Hendrick ended Bud's eight-year sponsorship of NASCAR's most popular driver, and the company launched an expensive re-brand with Kasey Kahne.

Now it moves to Harvick, along with RCR is on an impressive resurgence who is believed to have edged out two-time series champion Tony Stewart (FSY) for the sponsorship.

"RCR prides itself on its heritage and authenticity," said team owner Richard Childress. "So working with a brand like Budweiser, which has built their reputation on those same values, is a very special opportunity."

This awesome replica is produced by Action Performance, and features RACED VERSION detail, including the blown tire and torn-up body work!

HOOD AND TRUNK DO OPEN. This is the first one of it's kind since they produced the Dale Earnhardt Crash car back in '97, and you KNOW how valuable those are now! Isn't it a bit ironic that both models are the GM Goodwrench car?

The End Of Kevin Harvick Inc.

The end of a great organization in NASCAR

On Friday evening, 11/18/11, Kevin Harvick will strap into the No. 2 Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevrolet Silverado in the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race for Kevin Harvick, Inc. and then on Saturday afternoon he will watch this his wife on the pit box as the company he built runs its final race.

Some would look at this as an emotional time for the Harvicks. For Kevin Harvick, emotions were running high when he and his wife(DeLana) made the decision to close the shop after ten years. Since then, he has been at peace.

"There are some emotions - I got over those nine or 10 weeks ago," Harvick said Tuesday. "It will be interesting to see how those emotions are as they push the cars and trucks into the trailers for the last time."

Richard Childress Racing will take over the KHI Nationwide program, while Eddie Sharp Racing has purchased the assets of the truck program.

KHI has already clinched the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owner's Championship with the No. 2 truck, and Harvick would love to see his company win in their final outing in that truck at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday night.

"As we go into Friday night as we race the truck, we want to go down and do like we've done the whole year - contend for the win, try to win the last race, that would be neat," Harvick said. "To have won the owners championship and have a chance to win the last race, that would be great."

KHI has put three trucks and two Nationwide cars on the track all season, with a third Nationwide car in select races.

It has won one Nationwide race - Tony Stewart at Daytona, the 10th Nationwide win in team history. It has won 10 truck races this year to increase its total to 43.

Ron Hornaday won two driver titles for KHI in the trucks but saw his hopes this year end two weeks ago at Texas with a crash, partly his fault when he got racing three-wide with Kyle Busch and then was finished off by Busch in retaliation.

Nationwide driver Elliott Sadler also was in the championship hunt but saw his hopes end in a wreck with Jason Leffler last week at Phoenix.

"Neither of those accidents cost us the championship," Harvick said. "I think as you look back at the season, the Truck Series program, for instance, Ron got off to a rough start at Daytona, then they had several good weeks. The middle of the season was just kind of a disaster, I guess you could say. We put the pieces back together, I guess for the last third of the season, [and] really they were playing catch-up for the whole time.

"You can look at the Nationwide team and have those same arguments. They didn't win any races. You got to have some cushion in there. You got to perform to the level that you need to perform at to not have it come down to one race."

One of the reasons Harvick opted to get out of Nationwide competition was because the cars are so similar to Cup cars that he believed it's better for Cup teams to build those cars. He will still compete in Nationwide events through RCR.

"The transformation that's been happening at the shop as we've gone through the last several weeks of stuff being moved and transferred and things kind of starting to take a new look of the way the buildings will function as we move forward kind of has put it all into perspective from several weeks ago," Harvick said.

"I don't think it will be that big of an emotional shock to know that's the last one."

In fact, Harvick thinks he will have good feelings on the final weekend.

"It's a huge relief," Harvick said. "That's the feeling that DeLana and I have been going through for the last several weeks, knowing this is the last week. %u2026 I really get to do all the same things.

"But the things you have to worry about on a day-to-day basis, Richard and our whole team are looking after those things. It's been a fun transition and I'm really looking forward to the future and the performance of the vehicles."

Kevin Harvick Inc.

A 10 Year History, 2001 to 2011

Ten years ago, Kevin and DeLana Harvick began a journey. They decided to start a race team. At first the dream was small, starting in a storage unit they purchased. Little did they know 10 years later they would be running three full-time teams in the Truck Series and two full-time teams in the Nationwide Series, competing for both the driver and owner championship titles in each series. Each day when the Harvicks walk into their now over 80,000 square foot facility in Kernersville, N.C., they are reminded of their success with nearly 50 win banners and the two Truck Series championship flags that hang from the rafters of Kevin Harvick Inc (KHI). What started out in a storage unit has become one of the most successful organizations in NASCAR competition.

2001
Kevin Harvick competed and finished second in his first Truck Series event for KHI at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

2002
KHI entered five Truck Series events. Harvick scored KHI's first Truck Series victory at Phoenix International Raceway, becoming only the fifth driver in history to win a race in all three of NASCAR's premier divisions.

2003
KHI fielded an entry in six Truck Series events with drivers Harvick, Ed Berrier, Brandon Miller and Randy LaJoie.

2004
Driver Matt Crafton joined KHI to compete in their first full-time Truck Series entry. Crafton finished the season sixth in series points, earning six top-five and 17 top-10 finishes. That same season, Tony Stewart drove the first KHI Nationwide Series entry at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway finishing fifth.

2005
Ron Hornaday joined KHI to compete full time in their Truck Series program. He recorded his first win for KHI at Atlanta Motor Speedway and finished the year fifth in the point standings. In the Nationwide Series, KHI fielded their first full-time effort. Tony Stewart recorded KHI's first Nationwide Series win at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in the season opener. At seasons end the team yielded one win, five top-five and 13 top-10 finishes and finished 10th in the Owner's Point standings.
2006
KHI entered two full-time Nationwide Series entries, the No. 33 and No. 77. Burney Lamar joined KHI to pilot the newly formed No. 77 Chevrolet team, while Tony Stewart returned to KHI and defended his season-opening win at Daytona. At year's end the No. 33 team, piloted by a variety of drivers, recorded five top-five and 13 top-10 finishes placing them 10th in the overall point standings. The No. 77 team finished the season with one top-five and five top-10 finishes. On the Truck Series side, Hornaday returned as driver of the No. 33 Truck Series entry for KHI. He earned two wins, five top-five and 12 top-10 results to finish the year seventh in the point standings.

2007
Hornaday recorded four wins, 13 top-five and 22 top-10 finishes on his way to his third career Truck Series title. Kevin and DeLana Harvick collect their first championship as owners and the first title for KHI. In the Nationwide Series, the No. 33 and No. 77 Nationwide teams competed full time finishing sixth and 15th respectively in the Owner's Point standings.

2008
KHI expanded their Truck Series program to two full time entries with the introduction of the No. 2 Chevrolet and veteran driver Jack Sprague. After Sprague was relieved of driving duties in October, Ryan Newman climbed behind the wheel of the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado and scored his first Truck Series win. That same year, Hornaday attempted to become the first back-to-back Truck Series champion, but fell seven points shy of a second consecutive title for KHI. With a focus on building performance, KHI chose to run one full-time Nationwide Series effort, competing only with the No. 33 Chevrolet. At seasons end the No. 33 car recorded 10 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes to end the season seventh in the Owner's Point standings.

2009
Hornaday made history recording his fourth Truck Series title, making the Harvicks two-time championship owners. Hornaday also became the first driver in Truck Series history to win five consecutive races and joined NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty and NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Allison as one of only three drivers in NASCAR history to win five races in a row. That same season, 15 time AMA motocross champion, Ricky Carmichael, joined KHI. The No. 2 truck became the No. 4 truck in honor of Carmichael and his famous number. In the Nationwide Series, Harvick went to victory lane for the first time in KHI owned equipment at Bristol (Va.) Motor Speedway.

2010
KHI once again fielded two full-time Truck Series entries and one full-time Nationwide Series entry. Hornaday recorded two wins, 11 top-five and 13 top-10 finishes to end the year seventh in the point standings. Elliott Sadler joined KHI to compete in the No. 2 truck, recording his first Truck Series win at Pocono (Pa.) International Raceway. The win marked his first trip to victory lane since 2004. Clint Bowyer also joined KHI to compete in the No. 2 Truck returning to victory lane in the Truck Series for the first time since 2006 at Phoenix International Raceway in November. In the Nationwide Series, Harvick piloted the No. 33 car for the majority of the season recording three victories at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway and Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. The No. 33 team finished the year third in the Owner Point standings, an organization-best.

KHI enters 2011 celebrating 10 years of NASCAR racing. Since its inception, DeLana and Kevin have not only become leaders within the industry, but have built a reputation of integrity and fierce competitiveness. This season, DeLana will watch three full-time Truck Series teams and two full-time Nationwide Series teams compete for the drivers and owners championships in each series. With two Truck Series owner championships to her credit, no doubt DeLana's story has only begun and will continue to be one of the most watched in the sport.

2011
KHI will field three full-time Truck Series entries this season with Hornaday returning to the No. 33, Nelson Piquet Jr. in the No. 8 and the No. 2 which will be piloted by an all star line up of drivers. KHI will field two full-time Nationwide Series entries with Elliott Sadler in the No. 2 car and Harvick, Paul Menard, Clint Bowyer, Scott Speed and Austin Dillon behind the wheel of the No. 33 Chevrolet.

For the first time in 10 years of competition, KHI will compete for their first Nationwide Series Driver's championship with Sadler and the No. 2 team. Also Kevin's Nationwide team started 4 cars in the top 4 positions in the Coca-Cola 400 on the July 4th weekend, the first ever team in the the Nationwide Series to ever do that! Luck would have it, though, that all 4 cars would be wrecked in some way shape or form, a most expensive race for Kevin, and DeLana.
