Kevin Skinner and his wife Kristen have been together for nine years and they have two children. His parents are Joe and Jacklin Skinner of Mayfield, Kentucky.

Kevin has 3 siblings in Mayfield, one sister, Jennifer and 2 brothers, Rodney and Michael. They all grew up listening to their dad sing and play Hank Williams Sr. songs on guitar. Kevin graduated from Graves County High School. Kevin, Jennifer and Rodney played in a band they called Skinner and Friends, with some friends. Michael, the oldest, earned his master's degree in music from the University of Notre Dame and became a classical pianist. Skinner and Friends band use to play at Wrangler's Campground in the Land Between the Lakes, also at Hill's Bar-B-Que near the Kevil Korner in Kentucky.

"Kevin, I just want you to know that your audition performance of "If Tomorrow Never Comes" touched my heart. I showed the performance to my husband, and he said that was one of his favorite songs. That's when I realized how he really felt about me, even after nearly 10 years of marriage. Now, when I watch your performance again, I get a warm feeling and love my husband even more! Kevin dedicated "Always On My Mind" to his Dad who is right proud of his son. Joe wasn't able to attend the AGT shows because of health reasons but he made it for last week to be with his son. Let's keep praying for Joe Skinner!

Kevin said that, "Winning on America's Got Talent would be a great gift, but just being a part of the show is something that I will never forget".

Kevin was asked what he listened to growing up..."When I was little, I liked KISS for some reason. I was born in '74, and I remember KISS had come along big. I'd always jump around, do the tongue motion ... just three or four years old. Of course, I could take my guitar out right now and play you 'Beth.'"

September 16th, Susan Boyle, Britain's Got Talent runner-up sang the Rolling Stones ballad Wild Horses. She awed the audience with her performance.

The audition-round rejects returned to the stage to perform Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now.

Shakira, well, I'm sure we'd all like to watch that performance again. Wow!

Now Kevin headlines in America's Got Talent Love show at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino hosted by Jerry Springer in October. ~ "I've always loved to perform," Kevin said. "I want to go out there, and give 'em the best show I can."

About 6,000 fans lined-up for the concert half-way around the school building. Some fans were there 12 hours early to see Kevin perform. Kevin rocked the house with songs like "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" and some originals. Some fans said Kevin sounded better with his original band (included his older brother) than he did on AGT. Kevin signed hundreds of autographs after the 2 hour free concert.

Bianca Kline wrote Sept.12.09 ~ "Dear Kevin - My name is Bianca, I'm seven years old and have been watching you on America's Got Talent since you began. You are the best singer I ever heard. My mommom is a fan too! Hope you win! Looks like Pierce stood up for you. Hope to be seeing you on tour in PA. Love, Bianca and Mommom"

Smiling for you, wrote Oct.11.09 ~ "The first time I heard you sing on AGT you had me in tears, that was the most beautiful version of the song I have ever heard. You sang the song better than Garth Brooks ever could. I knew you were going to win and I voted for you each time, enjoy and God Bless you and your family."

Kirsten and Mike wrote October 23, 2009 ~ "Kevin we have seperate cells and computers so you got bunches of votes from us each time we had a chance and we would compete to see who would finish first and get to make the land line calls. We had never done that before and maybe never will again and you should have heard us laugh. All the best to you and your family and to those that are managing this website that is so fun to visit! We love the pictures and stories. We won't get to Vegas but will definitely see you as your career moves you on."

The free concert on Sept. 26th in Mayfield ended with Mayor Arthur Byrn giving Kevin a Key to the City of Mayfield and a plaque in honor and appreciation of all that he has done to bring attention to the city and Graves County. Tony Smith, judge executive of Graves County handed Kevin a road sign that reads "Kevin Skinner Hwy", naming a road for him. Congressman Ken Winters presented Skinner with a flag and plaque from the State Offices in Frankfort signed by the members of State Office in appreciation of being a great representative of Kentucky.
