"Offical: America's Got Talent Live began October 7th 2009" Pictured is Kevin Skinner and Jerry Springer in Las Vegas. Kevin said that he expects to have a CD out around April or May of 2010. Dreams came true for this guitarist, singer and song writer from Kentucky. Kevin is America's choice, a STAR and it is his time to shine! ~ Mayfield, Kentucky declared September 26th as "Kevin Skinner Day" before he went to Las Vegas to headline in the "America's Got Talent Live" show at Planet Hollywood. Kevin's amazing emotional performance of the song "If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks captured hearts from the start. Kevin called his music style Bent Lemon, a name people would remember, but now he is known by his name. Kevin writes songs in hopes that people can feel when they listen. He sure has made us all feel when we hear him sing. Oh, my God! America Voted! Kevin's pure raw talent is a gift to us all!

It was easy to see that the judges and audience loved Kevin when he was on America's Got Talent. Kevin has such a sweetness about him that just shines. Kevin interacted with the judges and everyone in the room with greatness that is humanly-real. He truly is a performer and was very funny at times. There was a viewing at the Graves County High School gym of AGT on September 1st with about 2000 fans rooting for Kevin. Admission was free with a canned food item going to Needline. T-shirts, signs and concessions were sold with all proceeds going to St Jude's Children Hospital as Kevin requested.
During the AGT Show, Kevin felt that a lot people liked what Grandma Lee was doing. He said that he was sure and had a pretty strong feeling that she is going to have a long career too and have a lot of success. "And you know, it kind of shocked me that, you know, that it turned out the way it did." ... he said.

Kevin Skinner and his wife Kristen have been together for nine years and they have two children. His parents are Joe and Jacklin Skinner of Mayfield, Kentucky.
Kevin has 3 siblings in Mayfield, one sister, Jennifer and 2 brothers, Rodney and Michael. They all grew up listening to their dad sing and play Hank Williams Sr. songs on guitar. Kevin graduated from Graves County High School. Kevin, Jennifer and Rodney played in a band they called Skinner and Friends, with some friends. Michael, the oldest, earned his master's degree in music from the University of Notre Dame and became a classical pianist. Skinner and Friends band use to play at Wrangler's Campground in the Land Between the Lakes, also at Hill's Bar-B-Que near the Kevil Korner in Kentucky.

Kevin Skinner 35 Unemployed Farmer in Local News cast
Kevin's Grandma, Ethel Clapp died and after her death Kevin wanted to find a way to deal with the pain in his heart.
After Kevin's grandmother died he also wrote "Her Stone" because he needed a way to deal with the pain inside and began to write songs that flowed to him. He sings "Her Stone" with feeling and healing from grief! ~ It touched a place inside of me that revealed my humanity and opened a flood of feelings I hadn't allowed myself to feel in awhile. I lost that music video and haven't been able to get it back. I'm sure Kevin will record it someday!

This man has sent love into my soul each time I listen to him sing, so as I work on updates here I get a lot joy in doing it.
Kevin said, "Back home, it's very rare to see me without my hat, unless it's something formal, like a wedding. It's something that only I would understand. It's my frame of mind, like, when you're getting down to business, you turn your hat backwards."

Kevin Skinner was dressed wearing a baseball cap backwards, jeans, striped hooded pull-over shirt and carrying a guitar with him on stage.
As Kevin gave the last audition of the day on June 30th 2009 he won the hearts of the judges with his deep and beautiful voice. He is a chicken catcher from Mayfield KY, but his musical talent captured the judges and the viewers.
Kevin started playing "If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks and everyone felt the passion and enjoyed and admired his emotion and performance. The Hoff said,"WOW". Kevin is going to the next round on America's Got Talent.
Most contestants on the show have a polished Hollywood look usually trying to look beautiful and charming but Skinner is totally different. His honest looks and his simplicity makes him different from all the rest, he's genuine.

Kevin wrote this song for his Grandmother after her passing.
Kevin said that being on AGT and waiting to hear who would win was wearing on his nerves. Winning on the show is a feeling that he has never felt before and that he probably will never experience something of the magnitude ever again and that he wants to savour the feeling.

Kevin was asked what he listened to growing up..."When I was little, I liked KISS for some reason. I was born in '74, and I remember KISS had come along big. I'd always jump around, do the tongue motion ... just three or four years old. Of course, I could take my guitar out right now and play you 'Beth.'"
September 16th, Susan Boyle, Britain's Got Talent runner-up sang the Rolling Stones ballad Wild Horses. She awed the audience with her performance.

Kevin went to Las Vegas on Sept. 27th to prepare to headline America's Got Talent Live, a version of the NBC reality series at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is being hosted by Jerry Springer and began on October 7th 2009 for 10-weeks; in Planet Hollywood's 1300-seat CHI Showroom. Shows will be every Wednesday through Sunday. Also, the show will feature performances by other popular season-four acts.

About 6,000 fans lined-up for the concert half-way around the school building. Some fans were there 12 hours early to see Kevin perform. Kevin rocked the house with songs like "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" and some originals. Some fans said Kevin sounded better with his original band (included his older brother) than he did on AGT. Kevin signed hundreds of autographs after the 2 hour free concert.

Honoring Kevin in Mayfield Kentucky
The free concert on Sept. 26th in Mayfield ended with Mayor Arthur Byrn giving Kevin a Key to the City of Mayfield and a plaque in honor and appreciation of all that he has done to bring attention to the city and Graves County. Tony Smith, judge executive of Graves County handed Kevin a road sign that reads "Kevin Skinner Hwy", naming a road for him. Congressman Ken Winters presented Skinner with a flag and plaque from the State Offices in Frankfort signed by the members of State Office in appreciation of being a great representative of Kentucky.

I read that at the concert Kevin's folks sat in the front row smiling, sometimes with tears as their hearts were being touched as their son sang. It all must be over-whelmimg.

Kevin, I was behind you through the entire way ever since I first saw you perform on AGT. Strangely enough, I was once in the chicken business myself about 10 years . I worked in the hatchery most of the time but also was a chicken catcher a few times too. I slso love to sing, but never got anywhere with it. I've fallen in love with the song he wrote after he grandma died. I get teary eyed every time I listen to it. I knew there was something special about him when I heard him first sing on AGT. Kevin puts so much emotion in both the songs he sings and the words he has written. Its rare to find someone like Kevin who reaches out and touches people in this way with his music. Kevin was my choice from the very beginning. On Wednesday night church services our preacher told us to go home and watch the guy name of Kevin Skinner. I did and watched all shows until the very last one. I kept saying "Please let it be Kevin", each time they let someone go. I yelled and clapped so hard when he won. GOD be with you Kevin and your family. Never forget your roots. That is what got you the win. You were honest, nothing fake and always sang from your heart.
