Now that is an idea, when you get a little time. I just came back to listen to Kevin sing If Tomorrow Never Comes, the judge and audience response to him really if "magic" like you say in one of the new quizzes you just added, I got all 3 new ones right!

Was just thinking of Kevin Skinner and decided it was time to hear him again and it sure has been a while since I was hear. Listening to "Like It's the Last Goodbye" for the second time around. I notice that his official site is temporarily down, so I would guess his fans appreciate you being here. Think I'll listen to a couple more videos. I sure remember when I first saw him and let you know about him and you spent the 4th of July 2009 creating this tribute to him and it sure has gone through plenty of changes since them.
  • Tipi May 29, 2012 @ 3:46 pm | delete
Yes, it was an enjoyable way to spend the 4th, Kevin inspired me so much on AGT. - Sure is good to have you come by, sis. Thank you! <3

Kevin, I love your singing so much. I have been a country music fan for most of my life. I just listened to a few of your videos and I must tell you that I really enjoy hearing you play the guitar and sing instead of a lot of musical instruments in the back ground. They seem to drown out your voice. Just you and your guitar is all that is needed. A loyal fan.
  • Tipi May 5, 2011 @ 12:06 am | delete
Lorraine, thank you for stopping by and letting Kevin know you appreciate him and his music.

Great reports all around for Abby Mott, was at St. Jude's for chemo and doesn't have to return for 2 whole weeks if her blood work continues to be positive. She did gain a pound and is working on another one. Wonderful news--Abby is very pleased that her wig has arrived and is modeling it for all to see, what a smile that little lady has. I think I can hear Kevin Skinner's smile!
  • Tipi Jan 8, 2011 @ 8:47 pm | delete
That's fantastic news, I'm glad that you read that and posted the update on Abby. Little girls like wearing wigs and playing dress-up, so this should be a fun part her Abby's recovery. I just know that Kevin is talking to Abby and is smiling real big. :D

I just checked the Caring Bridge site for Abby Mott and was encouraged to hear that she and her family will be able to celebrate Christmas in Murray and will be going there from St. Jude's in Memphis tomorrow, guess they stay at the Ronald McDonald House when she Is not receiving treatment. There was good news that she just completed her last radiation treatment and is receiving chemo, which is good news. The last time I checked in her white count was very low and she wasn't able to receive chemo. St. Jude's does a lot of wonderful things for the kids and for Christmas they did a simulated trip to the North Pole and even had the children get on a plane as part of the effort. Most of the kids had a wonderful time. Abby was disappointed as she knew the plane had never left the ground and had taxied to another part of the airport, she hadn't been able to look at the clouds and she knew the jolly fellow was not the real Santa. She's a smart little girl and her Mom is trying to think of a way to get her on an affordable plane ride so she can look at the clouds. When I flew years ago, my very favorite thing was looking down at the clouds. Abby does need to be back in Memphis on Monday for important blood work. She is a very cooperative patient, which is so helpful with all the procedures she has had to endure. Let's pray and send her good thoughts for a wonderful Christmas.

Sue, I just visited Abby's Caring Bridge site that you have posted. She came through surgery very well and all are pleased with her progress so far. Her Mom reported that they had gotten the tumor from the kidney and think they got the cancer from the lymph nodes--that was complex because apparently the chemo had melted some of the tissue. She is resting sweetly and not experiencing pain due to well managed pain medication. Thank you for posting that here.
  • Tipi Dec 1, 2010 @ 11:43 pm | delete
Abby is recovering, but has a lot of pain. She walked to the nurses station today, hasn't been eating much. We'll have to keep little Abby in our warmest thoughts.

Love the new intro picture of Kevin, he looks happy. Is he getting cuter or what?
  • Tipi Nov 17, 2010 @ 4:01 pm | delete
Sweet! ~ I like that picture Kevin, he was signing autographs of all things when it was taken. That would seem to make him pretty happy. :D

I am sure kevin was very honored to meet willie :) See you added new pages (tabs). Cool
  • Tipi Nov 14, 2010 @ 3:34 pm | delete
Wouldn't it be a thrill of a lie-time to meet Willie, I can see why Kevin was grinning from ear to ear that night. That's not a new page though my dear Duckling...you just must have missed the tabs before, they are easy to miss at the top. ~ Thanks for visiting!

You got that right Woman. I'm so pleased that Kevin is doing so much to help St. Jude Children's Hospital and putting on benefits for different sick children. Gotta love it when someone does as much as he does to help. ~ Thanks for coming by, good to see you!

I had to rush right over this morning to see that picture of Kevin and Abby. It is adorable! I'd say Kevin gave Abby much more than a T-shirt, she got a Kevin concert all to herself and memories that will dance in her head like visions of sugar plums. A picture does speak a thousand words--Kevin looks like there is no other place that he would rather be in that moment and could Abby be sitting any closer to him! Father, please heal this little one.
  • Tipi Nov 7, 2010 @ 10:50 am | delete
I fell in-love with Abby as soon as I saw that pic that oldhippy sent me. Glad I was able to get it posted (Squidoo wasn't working too good). - I agree, Father, heal this little Abby.

Oh my goodness! I must be a true Kevin Skinner fan-- actually just read what I could of the newspaper article on Kevin with the picture of him getting on a private jet! I, of cours, immediately noticed new picture and just love the one of Kevin meeting fans outside the Tuft theater in Tifton--his sincerity can be read by everyone in his body posture, he seems to have a natural respectfullness for folks. Sue, I also noticed that you didn't tell me about these new little surprises--you keep me coming back just to check on what oldhippy has sent your way. God bless oldhippy!
  • Tipi Oct 22, 2010 @ 9:18 pm | delete
Yes, Kevin has a big heart, and is doing lots to raise money for different charities. Its wonderful that he can do that and help so many who need it. He does so much on the QT that we don't even hear about because it doesn't get into the news. I am still very impressed that Kevin is genuine, and he is not going to change. ~ Good to see you my sister, stop by anytime...you are always welcome. Thank you for all your help, and that oldhippy too! ~ Bless you both!

I visited you here about a year or so ago and impressed with how this website seems to have evolved right along with Kevin. Its very up to date and I'd say 'Fan-tastic". I tend to look at things analytically and was also impressed at Kevin's cross-cultural fan appeal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, that first appearance says it all.

Tipi.........thanks for the great forum. Such a nice community of people and you do such a great job. There has been earlier discussion about the direction of Kevin's career. I still think the best is ahead for Kevin. I do know he is an outstanding songwriter and that dramatically increases his chances of having a breakthrough song on the radio. For sure there is no doubt in my mind that fifty years from now future artists will be singing songs that Kevin has written. A pretty good legacy indeed!
  • netnut. Oct 1, 2010 @ 8:57 pm | delete
Even now I'm listening to Kevin sing If Tomarrow Never Comes. I like the back-up by the band on the Tonight Show better than what he got on AGT. Congratulations to all of us for voting for Kevin Skinner!
  • Tipi Oct 1, 2010 @ 9:22 pm | delete
Are you a net-nut? Me Too. I have to agree with what you said about the back up. AGT tries to get too showy or something, didn't work well with Kevin's style. They were trying to change him it seemed, glad it didn't work. Love Kevin just the way he is. - Thanks for visiting!

A year already and it just seems like yesterday that you won AGT Kevin! May you often have a smile as big as your face can possibly manage!
I've watched all your videos over and over and have Long Ride and know all your songs. I'll have a concert ticket one day also and can't wait to see you. Maybe you'll sign my guitar like Willie Nelson and George Jones did for you. I bet you were crazy excited! That's how I'll be when you sign mine.

Oh rhapsodyinblack, that will be an exciting day when Kevin signs your guitar. I'm with you on that. Its wonderful for those that play guitar and can learn lots of songs. One of my sons plays classic guitar, and the used to play base. Wishing good success!

I want to see and hear Kevin and have him still be his own person and not live to get it all in a moment and loose the important things of life."

Sorry but the guest book comment didn't come through, so I manually added for whoever that was, didn't have your ID in the email so I could add that too. Hopefully the problems are fixed by now.

The thing is we all want to see Kevin again. I have watched that first video 100 or more times and I still get drawn in. AGT misssed it there.
  • Tipi Sep 20, 2010 @ 7:47 pm | delete
I'm sure there were many that wanted to see Kevin on AGT, but ultimately that was the director of the show I would suppose (I don't know). Kevin will bring out some more CD and music videos for us all, someday. Guess we all might to just go to a concert when we can. ~ Thanks sweetheart!
  • amigo Sep 19, 2010 @ 11:55 pm | delete
Success isn't always what we think it might be. I wish Kevin all the success in the world but not at any cost. The man that stopped the world for a moment a year ago in L.A. gave us a moment of pause to maybe evaluate "success" a little differently. What if that was the main thing he was put on this earth for?
  • Tipi Sep 20, 2010 @ 7:42 pm | delete
That is a profound thought Amigo. The first time a read your comment, it certainly did ring true. Kevin kind of did stop the world and bring a pause, it was amazing then and still is to listen to that video. There was more going on in those too few minutes then just a man singing and playing his guitar. He captured hearts! ~ Thanks for sharing your thoughts, that's very good.

I think AGT blew it big time and we fans lost out. By the looks of it, people from all over our world have stopped by here to learn more about Kevin and say Hi to him. I visited the Flag Counter and people from over 170 countries have sought Kevin out, many of the countries I've never even heard of before. I think most of these people would join me in saying we want more of Kevin. I'm disappointed with AGT and NBC. (my messag wouldn't go through, will try again)
  • Tipi Sep 20, 2010 @ 7:33 pm | delete
Carolane, I just checked and there are 174 countries represented here now to find out about Kevin. That has been amazing to me, and I'm thrilled at the same time. Yeah, Kevin fans are pretty loyal. I've has a couple get after me for my typos...lol (I correct them). Oh, messages get approved before they go through as soon as I see them waiting. I've got another 90 some Squidoo to keep up to, so I don't always reply right away, or just want to think about things. Thanks for sharing your heart.
  • nnels54 Sep 19, 2010 @ 1:02 am | delete
Skinner is writing his own script and that includes thumbing his nose at the country music establishment by going on his own label. And he has not polished his act enough in the past year to merit an appearance on AGT - that venue demands high octane, and Skinner is running on leaded. Maybe next year, if Skinner will embrace the country music establisment in Nashville - if not, he better not complain about not "making it." "It" comes with strings attached.
  • Tipi Sep 19, 2010 @ 8:23 am | delete
Thanks for that input nels. - Myself, I wouldn't want to be gone from home for months at a time just gain the approval of the music industry, so I can understand that. I don't think anyone will ever hear Kevin complain, just his fans that love to hear and see him perform. Anything with stingers attached is not that attractive, its control; and Kevin is his own man...that's what's really great about him.

I would rather see someone being true to them self and their convictions, then to be put into a mold of what others want them to be. I believe Kevin is going with what his heart says, and that is being true. As for his fans, we'll all keep supporting Kevin in whatever way we can. It was disappointing that we didn't get to see him on TV, that's all.

No Kevin Skinner On America's Got Talent 2010

It was sad that the producers of America's Got Talent did not invite Kevin Skinner back to perform during this years finale, but I can't say that I am surprised considering how the Hollywood establishment has treated him since his victory last year. There are reasons why Kevin Skinner has not become that popular over the past year and some of those reasons are of his own making.

While I do not know Kevin Skinner personally, I feel like he wants to just live his life out performing in small "hometown" venues -instead of becoming a top country music singer in the United States. Kevin Skinner is a small town kind of guy and I believe that is the life he wants to live in the years to come and there is nothing wrong with that. Who could blame Kevin for not wanting to become a big star, if that's not what's in his own heart?

I have listened to tracks from Kevin Skinner's new CD and in my opinion, most of those songs are worthy of radio station airplay. However, getting played on the radio is not a forgone conclusion for anyone these days and to succeed it takes a powerful management team and a willingness from the star himself to focus on that goal like a laser beam. That said, it was in bad taste for AGT not to invite Kevin Skinner to perform on Wednesday night and I may just quit watching that show anymore because of it.
  • Tipi Sep 18, 2010 @ 8:30 pm | delete
The Hutch Report said it very well. Thanks for posting that OldHippy.
I really wish that American's Got Talent would have had Kevin on the show.
  • ShaneK Sep 18, 2010 @ 11:14 pm | delete
It was sad-sad-sad of AGT not to have Kevin on. I waited and waited to see him and I am very, very disappointed. Kevin deserved better treatment. Who else has mesmerized millions of people in a moment?
  • Tipi Sep 20, 2010 @ 7:54 pm | delete
You know what? I didn't even watch AGT this season. Michael Grimm sure can sing though, guess he already had a leg up in his career. I'm happy for him. - thanks!
  • Jeff Sep 19, 2010 @ 11:56 am | delete
Hello........I have read this lens from it's beginning and it truely is exceptional. A great job well done Tipi. Kevin has played several venues outside of Kentucky recently and has more booked in several states. Opening for people like Charlie Daniels is a great way to make a living. I do think Kevin has tremendous upside and time will let us know how for he goes. One thing I know for sure is that Kevin is an exceptional songwriter. Fifty years from now people will be singing songs Kevin has written. Writing his own music dramatically increases Kevin's chances of becoming a major star. Keep the faith. Thanks again Tipi for your labor of love.
  • Tipi Sep 20, 2010 @ 7:27 pm | delete
Jeff, that was very nice, very thoughtful of you to take the time to write that. Oh, its a good living opening for already big names, and the crowds love Kevin. He'll be around doing things his own way, taking his time and staying on the right path (that's what he wants to do).
  • GrandmaOf4 Sep 18, 2010 @ 6:01 am | delete
Kevin, you could have moved to the big cities of stars in pursuit of greater fame and fortunes, but instead you stayed in Kentucky with your family and friends. You have been true to yourself, remained genuine, and few that have done what you have could would be able to say the same. Glad that you will be around for a long time to come. Tipi this site is a great tribute to Kevin.

  • Tipi Sep 14, 2010 @ 3:10 pm | delete
Hi granny, I really do think you can figure that one out. The main thing is Kevin and Pamela are very much in love and happy together. Love is grand! Thanks for visiting.

I pondered that question about Kevin's 1st performance on AGT. Maybe I over thought it cuz now I think it was both super-natural and emotional. I had to choose just one cuz both was not a choice. I screamed in elation when he won! I think Kevin is fine!
  • Tipi Sep 12, 2010 @ 12:37 pm | delete
FancyBoy, your post is going to get posted up by the poll question on that. Well said, I like that. Thanks of your thoughtful comment. Oh, so that was you I was screaming with! My neighbors thought there was something wrong when they heard me scream when Kevin won. - Its nice to good neighbors, you are welcome anytime!
  • Bethany Sep 11, 2010 @ 10:41 am | delete
Kevin Skinner has a way of getting a whole audience caught up in his performance and its just him being real and genuine, no hype! I wonder how he does that. Love you Kevin! (and I'm so happy for your success and love with Pamela)
  • Tipi Sep 11, 2010 @ 4:11 pm | delete
Hi Bethany, I believe Kevin does that by singing and playing from his heart, with some feeling and by just being his self. All of the great stars have been genuine from the start and never lost that. It comes from living a good and honest life. - Best wishes to you!

I had never heard of him until today (don't have cable), I loved the youtube song you had up and will have to listen to more later. (kids driving me nuts this early in the morning) But you can tell he knows you support him since he sent you that picture. (very nice of him too). Hope you continue to update as I'd like to learn more about him, he seems to be a very down to earth type of guy.

Sam, I thinks that's so cool that you got to see Kevin in Vegas, I wanted to go so bad. I got that "hankerin'" as you say...lo! - I just thinks its so nice that Kevin takes the time to meet, greet and sign autographs. He really is a kind person and a humble man. That sister of his, Jen sure can sing too.

Kevin, as I watched AGT tonight I remember the tension as I held my breath a year ago now to hear your name called as one of the final four. It seemed to take forever until experiencing tears of elation as you moved on. I keep hoping to see you on the show and hope AGT makes this hope come true. You have a way of getting to the heart.
  • MayStower Sep 6, 2010 @ 7:10 am | delete

Love this lens. I wish Kevin skinner and his lady a successful marriage when they do cross that bridge :)
  • Tucker and Tucker Sep 5, 2010 @ 10:21 am | delete
What a wonderful mix of info, images, and fan raves you have here! I and the wife were takin with Kevin from the very start and we won't be changing our minds on that. I would say that we are hard core Kevin Skinner lovers. It's the whole package with Kevin. We were saddend at first that his marriage went on the rocks and wondered if it was due to the win but then we figured it out. That marriage was hurtin before and the win couldn't fix what was broken. I said all that to say, a man who expresses love in song so well has to have a special lady in his life. We hope Kevin and Pam are able to hold on to each other through the good times and the storms to come.
  • Tipi Sep 5, 2010 @ 10:31 am | delete
Tucker, thank you so much for the very positive comments that you wrote. I couldn't have said it better. Seems there will always be storms in life, but when we know we are loved, we can be strong and weather what comes our way. Love is the best thing in life!

Of course Bardstown was a big hit and Kevin was on. He puts on a good performance, but with him its more like showing up up and doing what he loves to to...entertain.

Thanks for keeping up on the new countries that visit here Shelly (sister), you do remind me to look at the flag counter (I'm too bsuy).

We are in our 60's and I am from Texas originally but have lived in Alaska for 30 years. So I am very much a country girl still. Love your music and the feelings you put into each song. Got to get your CD. Hope we can get one up here in Alaska. Best of luck. You are going far.

For the curious minded, Zimbabwe has had 6 unique visitors to Kevin Skinner's Fans: Pictures~GuestBook~Polls. Why do I mention that?
Well Mrs Lyn Bezuidenhout visited from Mutare this morning. She uses an interesting word "chuffed" to indicate that they were "pleased" Kevin won America's Got Talent. How cool is that!

Kevin you are the best and at 80 I think I should know. You made me so happy listening to the song If tomorrow never comes in AGT. I switched on to this channel in error. I need to know have you released a disc? I do try to find my way around the computer! I do so hope that you win, if you don't then I shall never watch AGT again. (Isle of Wight. UK)

This is really, really sad news. i thought Kevin and Kristen were forever. They looked so happy together and with their kids. i hope this was not because of him winning that money last year. But he seems very honest and humble. i wish them the best. This is very sad and hard on their children i am sure,as well as Kevin & Kristen, Hope things work out for all of them. I had hopes they would be a family together forever, but nothing lasts forever. God bless them all !!

The administrator of MyKevinSkinner.com had a get together at her home in Mountain View, Arkansas, this weekend. One fan traveled from Maine, and I'll bet she was happy that she attended, because the big event on Friday night was the surprise visit of Kevin and his manager. Everyone wa...s numb with excitement! Kevin got out the guitar and played the song that started it all. Then he did "Blues Man" and his music video song "Like It's the Last Goodbye". Autograph ink was flowing and Kevin had, as you can see, the biggest smile that his face could possible produce.

I see Cape Verde is the 158th flag to visit Kevin Skinner's Fans: Poll Pictures~Guest Book. Cape Verde is in the North Atlantic off the west coast of Africa and was initially populated by the Portugese. The present population is primarily of African/Portugese heritage. Welcome Cape Verde! Welcome everyone! It would be wonderful if more people from the various nations would leave a message in the guest book--I think Kevin Skinner would get a kick out of that, he loves his fans!
I'm having trouble leaving a guest book message. The security word wouldn't work and then I got a message that the "image has expired". My solution was to copy my message, reload the page and paste. Problems the cosmic continuum can make us creative in our efforts. Wish me luck, I'm trying to break through the cosmosity again. I guess I just invented a new word, "cosmosity", I like that!

You are the real deal and I am so glad that you won. That is what the show should be about; ordinary people getting the chance they would never get otherwise.

Mayfield, KY … (May 2, 2010) -- John Lloyd Miller is one of the most prolific videographers in music. His credits span three decades and include top artists with whom Miller has collaborated to produce some of music's best known videos.

The names are all there: Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Kentucky Headhunters -- more than 250 music videos in all.

A musician himself, Miller began directing music videos while in the Graduate Film Program at the University of Southern California, the start of a long, acclaimed career. Five years ago, Miller stepped away from the world of music videos, but now he has decided to return.

John Lloyd Miller and his team of professionals are coming to Mayfield, KY to shoot and produce Kevin Skinner's first music video.

"I look for a singer who is authentic. To me, that's the most important quality," Miller said, " and that's the first word that popped into my mind when I saw and heard Kevin Skinner." Miller continued that theme by saying he decided to shoot on location in Mayfield rather than on a soundstage because he wanted the video to reflect who Kevin Skinner is and where he came from.

Skinner said he was delighted to have such a legendary talent in charge of his first music video. "John Lloyd and I hit it off immediately," Skinner said, "and when we started talking, it was clear that John and I wanted the same things from my first video." Skinner pointed out that Miller had produced the video for the Garth Brooks hit, "If Tomorrow Never Comes," the song Skinner performed to begin his winning quest on America's Got Talent.

No final decision has been made on when the video will debut. Gerald Smith, a spokesman for CypressTree Records said the video will be shot and edited in the next few weeks and its release will coincide with the release to radio stations of Kevins first single

    Re: THURSDAY, MARCH 18, 2010

Kevin Skinner's New CD 'The Long Ride' On Sale Now
"Kevin Skinner's New CD 'The Long Ride' On Sale Now." Last summer, I started writing about a contestant on "America's Got Talent" by the name of Kevin Skinner. When I first wrote about Kevin Skinner on this blog, he has just blown away the judges after his first audition on that show and then later on he won the whole competition - where the prizes included a check for one million dollars and a chance to perform live and on stage in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now that Kevin Skinner has finished his appearances in Las Vegas, he is getting ready to release a new CD that is titled "The Long Road". A fan of Kevin Skinner sent me an email message yesterday with an Internet address where fans and supporters of Kevin Skinner can order a copy of his new CD today.

I'm not really sure what is going on with the back end of Kevin Skinner's CD record deal, because before yesterday - Amazon.com provided an email link where people interested in Kevin Skinner's new CD could sign up, but then Amazon.com put up a message that said the promoter of that CD had withdrawn the offer. My guess is that some person thought they had a deal to promote Kevin Skinner's new CD, but when it was time to release Kevin's new CD they did not. I really don't care whether fans of Kevin Skinner purchase his new CD on Amazon.com, at a local record store or via his official website. All that really matter to me is that millions of Americans that want to hear more music from Kevin Skinner, now have a way to purchase his new CD.

More than likely, there are some people around that are trying to make money off of Kevin Skinner's hard work and success. To those people, all I can say is get a life and find a way to make money using your own skills and talents. Kevin Skinner now has an official website where fans of this unlikely country singer can not only purchase his new CD, but they can also view videos of his appearances since winning the 2009 edition of America's Got Talent. I believe the reason why Kevin Skinner caught on so quickly in the United States is because in many ways he reminds us of some friend or family member that also has a dream of being a professional country singer.

great job Susie!!!Kevin must be very thankful!

Well, I can't imagine that an official web site of Kevin Skinner's would have any more detail than you've included her...absolutely amazing and well-presented, too.

How would you like to visit my lens featuring Angel Blessings?
  • A Kevin Quote Mar 18, 2010 @ 8:44 pm | delete
"It never really was an issue with me - talking to my fans," Skinner said. "You know, they're the ones that gave me the votes. I believe it's time we gave them something back and gave them some good music to listen to. Maybe they can get their hands on this CD. I like to write real music and I believe there's some real music on there that's going to move some people and touch some people. So we're going to give back to them."
Kevin's new cd "The Long Road" features 10 original songs which are great and can be previewed on his official website. Yup, "Her Stone" and "Off To Heaven", which we've all come to love. Eight more tasty treats are included: "Solid Ground", "Without You", "Like It's The Last Goodbye", "Road To A Hard Outlaw", "Soldier's Last Breath". "Redneck Country Town" and "Find Your Way Back Home". That's a whole lot of variety and fun! The cd is only available on line, so get yourselves over there! You can use PayPal or your credit card.

I sure hope that you can keep yourself grounded Kevin because its your everyman way that makes you appeal to so many different folks. Some people get on the ride and never look back but for you that would be a loss. Let God and family give you balance and you'll do just fine. Time is on your side.

Music is something that has always ministered to my heart but Kevin, you are a very special experience. It is as though you reach right into the soul when you sing and healing happens. When you sang If Tomorrow Never Comes on America's Got Talent tears washed out my hardened heart an cleansed me and I knew that what I thought was lost still had a chance. I thank you.

    re: March 5, 2010
"Kevin Skinner's CD Is Widely Anticipated." Last summer, I along with millions of other Americans discovered a new raw talent in the field of country music by the name of Kevin Skinner. While Kevin Skinner was first a long shot to even get in the final 10 of the 2009 edition of America's Got Talent (AGT) he surprised many people with his weekly performances featuring country music sung from the heart and at the end of the competition he was crowned the winner of America's Got Talent 2009. After Kevin Skinner won AGT last year, he went on to perform with the other finalist on the show, first in Las Vegas and then in Connecticut. Right now, Kevin Skinner is in a recording studio - putting the final touches on his yet to be titled new CD that will be released sometime next month (April).

About 30 days ago, I first noticed that Amazon.com had created an email address where fans of Kevin Skinner could sign up to be notified when his new CD goes on sale. Since I first started offering that Amazon.com link, thousands of readers of this blog alone have visited Amazon.com and signed up to be emailed when Kevin Skinner's new CD goes on sale next month. It has been a long time since Kevin Skinner won America's Got Talent and during that period of time millions of people who have wanted to hear Kevin Skinner sing again have found themselves with little to no new news or TV appearance featuring this amazingly talented young man.

The good news is that none of us have long to wait now until Kevin Skinner's new CD goes on sale in the United States. At the bottom of this blog post you will find a link that will lead you to Amazon.com's email sign-up form that when filled out will allow you to be one of the first people in the world to purchase Kevin Skinner's new CD album. Rumor has it that Kevin Skinner's new CD will be filled with original written songs by Kevin himself, which will be very much different from the song he sang on AGT 2009. I hope to write a review of Kevin Skinner's new CD shortly after my copy is shipped from Amazon.com, but I can already tell you that I'm going to like Kevin Skinner's new CD whether any big time music critics like it or not.

I agrre with the judges, Kevin Skinner is a great raw talent like a diamond in the rough and he has only just begun to shine and sparkle. This gem is a shared wealth for every one of us and we will all be enriched as Kevin develops and unfolds his gifts to us. May there be many cd's and affordable concerts to allow everyone an opportunity to be a part of this wonderful story.

"Kevin Skinner update: new CD release April 2010." A few week ago, I wrote that Kevin Skinner would be releasing his debut CD in March. However, just to keep all of you updated - Kevin Skinner's new CD will not be released until April. Let's all hope that there will not be another delay in this highly anticipated CD, which as of today does not yet have a title. Like many of the rest of you reading this post, I fell in love with Kevin Skinner's music and voice the very first time he showed up to sing on America's Got Talent last year.

Sadly, in hindsight - I did not think much of Kevin Skinner when he first took the stage and like so many times before I made the choice to judge a book by it's cover before he opened his mouth to sing. Actually, for many people - Kevin Skinner was their first opportunity to grade their own inter-being when it comes to judging other's before they get a chance to know them. We are all inflicted in one way or another toward judging folks we don't know by old stereotypes that have been passed down through the generations by well meaning family members and friends. Like the judges said so many times on AGT last summer, Kevin Skinner turned out not to be some hick from the sticks - but instead his music worked magic on millions of people around the world.

While many months have gone by since Kevin Skinner first performed on and then won America's Got Talent, I still believe in my heart that when Kevin Skinner's CD goes on sale in April (2010) - hundreds of thousands of people, including myself, will be lined up to purchase that new CD and see what other emotional musical gifts that Kevin Skinner has to share with people who love real country music. Unfortunately, many new acts in country music seem to all sound the same - because of what is referred to as studio magic. Kevin Skinner's unique and down home style is what made him special and those are the same traits that I believe will draw many new fans to his music once his new CD is release and his songs start getting played on the radio in April.

Well now I just have to stop and make a note that my visit here has been mighty nice, mighty nice. I was pleased to see other seniors have the same taste for Kevin Skinner's way as I do, he seems to have quite an appeal across age limits. I new he was a winner at his first note and he went on to prove me right, even as he did the little lady who did this nice website. Kevin will do good by us all. I'm with Loise M in that it is a hope of mine to have the pleasure of attending a Kevin Skinner concert
  • Louise M Mar 3, 2010 @ 8:48 pm | delete
It is my fondest wish to get myself to a live Kevin Skinner concert. I suppose I should arrange for that sooner than later as I am now pushing 80 and have not so enjoyed a performer in many years. I have long been partial to performers with a country heart regardless of their actually singing country exclusively. I would like to hear more of Kevin's own songs as well as some standards and will be tapping my toe as I go. (Yes, you got everyone of my votes Kevin except for a few for Grandma Lee, we grannys must stick together a little bit.) It has been my pleasure to visit here, somewhere I read that someone was in Kevin heaven, I think I am there right this moment. All my very best wishes to Kevin and his family and I hope he doesn't get involved in the foolishness that fame can bring. Now to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, please pack away the smokes Kevin.

Kevin Skinner Prepares For March 2010 CD Release
"Kevin Skinner prepares for March 2010 CD release" According to Kevin Skinner, his first CD (album) will be released at the end of next month (March 2010). This new CD from the 2009 winner of America's Got Talent has not been named yet, but Skinner says that it will be filled with songs that he has personally written over the years. Millions of people in the United States became instant fans of Kevin Skinner when he first auditioned on America's Got Talent.

Recently, Amazon.com created a link on their website where fans eager to be one of the first to order Kevin Skinner's new CD could receive email alerts when that new CD goes on sale. If you would like to receive these Amazon.com email alerts to notify you when Kevin Skinner's new CD goes on sale, click here. Like millions of other people, I want to be one of the first to buy Kevin Skinner's new CD when it goes on sale next month.

It's easy to see that scores of fans have not forgotten about Kevin Skinner since he won the 2009 edition of AGT last summer. In the beginning, I was concerned that most people would completely forget about how Kevin Skinner music made them feel as he fulfilled his AGT contract with small performances in Las Vegas and then more recently in Connecticut. However, I was wrong and it now appears that hundreds of thousands of people are eagerly awaiting the end of March when Kevin Skinner's new CD will be released to the world.

It would be Wonderful if we fans of Kevin could buy a dvd of his performance in Vegas!!! What harm could it be? When his time at AGT LIVE is finished & he goes on to start performing in concerts all over the U.S.A. & overseas too (People love Kevin everywhere!!) why couldn't America's Got Talent & NBC sell fans dvds of his show in Vegas? How could it hurt? He has made LOTS of money for Planet Hollywood while he was there. I saw where the last show was Dec. 30th? First it was Dec. 13th & then they changed it. i checked the Planet Hollywood schedule every week.
Kevin will be under contract with AGT & NBC Until september, when a new million dollar winner is announced. So how can letting us see what his show was like?

I'm 77 and there is nothing more I would like to see happen than you make an album of Eddy's most popular tunes. Daniel O'Donnell has done that with some of our old time famous countryy singers and has made a lot of us old folks remember the good ole days and be happy.

Pure raw emotion is rare nowadays, and it is something that will always make me respond. I hoped in my heart you would win and I screamed for joy when you did. Can not wait till your album is on our shelves here in Ireland. Good luck and just keep on singing!

My biggest dream present on my birthday, which are today, is being on Your live concert and then have the opportunity to talk with You for so 5 minutes unfortunately it hadn't happen so far but I strongly believe that I'll obtain that honor although I live 10,000 miles from your hometown Kevin. You are James Cameron of country music. Best wishes and Mary X-mas to You and All Your Family.

I met Kevin and was the last one in line to get his autograph. He took time to meet everyone and shake hands and listened to what everyone had to say. He truly is one of the most kind and well mannered people I have ever met. I can hardly wait to buy a cd when it comes out. I voted for Kevin every time to win on the show, and I was so excited when he did. I screamed and jumped around like I had won. God bless you Kevin and your family.

Kevin Skinner has a wonderful and magical voice. He has been blessed with a gift that most people would love to have. Before Kevin won the contest I spent a few hours in Mayfield and saw the signs rooting for him. You made your town proud. Kevin put your gift to good use but be careful that you keep your roots in Kentucky firmly in your heart! We Kentuckians are very proud of you!
  • oldhippy Dec 15, 2009 @ 7:37 pm | delete
Kevin received his new Taylor guitar on Dec 9,there where a lot of fans there, including his parents and wife, he sang 3 songs while playing his new guitar,he signed a lot of autographs, and he thanked all of his fans and said he was very thankful for thier support, all for now, Tipi check the new pics.
  • Tess Dec 14, 2009 @ 11:47 pm | delete
Even tho' I surely wanted Kevin to win I didn't think he would, that they'd give it to the Opera Singer. I whooped out loud with surprise when I heard he won. Could not believe it!!! I am very, very glad that soooo very many people took initiative and voted! Too often we sit by and let others 'take care' of things... I don't think anyone was more deserving than Kevin. And, it just tickles the hell out of me that a "Good Ol' Boy" did it!!

Kevin, you have got to know that you made, and are making, so many people very proud to have such a representative as you!! You represent America very well! GOD BLESS YOU and your family!!!

The thing that stands out the most about Kevin Skinner is how genuine and unassuming he is. He truly does not comprehend what an amazing gift he is sharing with the world when he puts his heart and soul right out on his sleeve and sings. When he sings my eyes are never dry.
  • Tipi Dec 12, 2009 @ 12:15 pm | delete
I was touched deeply the first time I heard Kevin sing and I have cried... Something happened inside of me because I was inspired to create this fan page and I'm so glad that I did. When Kevin won, this site got real busy with fans expressing their heart felt joy. I cried for days because of the love that was inspired for Kevin and his family with so many praying for his victory. Still the love that is expressed here stirs my heart and I feel much emotion. You all are amazing me and love you for that. ~ Kevin, you have a strong support of faithful fans who love you and keep you in their hearts. Congratulations on the new guitar that fans honored you with!

When Garth Brooks came to Winston-Salem, NC in the 80's, I was working in security at the coliseum. There were times when I was the only person allowed in the area during the time Garth was warming up. When I heard Kevin sing, "if tomorrow never comes", I had feelings like I never had when Garth sang it. There were tears and so much of an emotional feeling,,,,it was a feeling of love, trust, and relaxation. There just aren't words to discribe the feeling inside. I want to feel that way again and again. Keep your head on straight and take care of yourself Kevin. We need you and your music now and forever.
  • mulberry Dec 8, 2009 @ 1:48 am | delete
I don't watch the show, so I was familiar with Kevin. Enjoyed listening to him here. I especially loved "If Tomorrow Never Comes".
  • Shelly Dec 7, 2009 @ 9:59 pm | delete
Well, God bless oldhippy real good for contributing here again and keeping us up to date. I love the picture work you did with Kevin Skinner and Willie Nelson--wouldn't it be great if they recorded together some day?
Your new polls are quite thought provoking. I had to go with supernatural, as experiencing Kevin sing "If Tomorrow Never Comes" was quite unexplainable just by emotion for me--it was apart from the norm in an unusual way. Yup, it was super-natural indeed!
  • oldhippy Dec 7, 2009 @ 12:09 pm | delete
Kevin's last show in Vegas is Dec.6 and then he will return to Vegas,Dec,26,27,28.29.30.he will recieved his guitar that fans will be giving to him on Dec.9 at Allens Music Store in Paducah,Ky,Tipi hope ya got the new pics, welome back home Kevin.

Thanks for getting my attention in the guest book old hippy. I went and checked my personal email and there I found some new pictures of Kevin to share with everyone. Thank you so much, its like Christmas came early. ~ Welcome home Kevin!

I've watched and voted just for you Kevin because you stand out from all the others. Keep doing just that and your fans will vote with their pocket books and buy everything Kevin Skinner ~ I sure will and can't wait for your first cd. I like how your family is included here and I will join with all those who would encourage you to keep them close. The industry has chewed up a lot of relationships when performers lose sight of what truly is important in life.
  • Shelly Dec 2, 2009 @ 8:43 pm | delete
A new picture of Kevin--what a nice surprise! It's not the best picture of him, but we hard core Kevin Skinner fans are grateful for any glimpse of him. I think I can see that James Dean thing you mentioned but mostly I see a guy trying to take a quick break from the lime light--a little worn around the edges at that moment and it's hard to always get that smile up. Be sure and get your rest Kevin, we want you around for a long, long time.
  • Tipi Dec 7, 2009 @ 5:26 pm | delete
Shelly, I started a new poll about that picture today. This will be fun seeing what everyone thinks too. Nice to know that Kevin has a break for a time. I was on the Twitter Pic today by a man who met Kevin, and he says that Kevin has to be one the most polite people. Sweet!

Kevin and family....I'd like you to know I've never been a large fan of country music. You have made a believer in songs from the heart. My mom said, "you have to see this guy" and had taped your performance from AGT. Your performances show a genuine human being and I hope you will always keep that close to your heart. Don't let the trappings of fame let you forget where you came from or who you are inside. Keep the dream alive, stay true to yourself! I wish you and your family the best and will be one of the millons you have inspired to buy your upcoming CD!
  • KathyMcGraw Nov 30, 2009 @ 11:46 pm | delete
I remember watching AGT and being floored at how well Kevin sang. But it wasn't just his singing, it was his humble attitude that really got to me. I totally enjoyed reading this.

Kevin, you are the most exciting thing to happen to music since Elvis Presley. God has certainly given you a talent that was instantly recognized by millions from the moment you opened your mouth and sang "If tomorrow never comes". There hasn't been one day since then that we haven't thought of you and replayed that performance and others. God bless you and your family and we are all looking forward to your future.

I wonder if Kevin and Kristen have gotten to count the stars lately--something pretty hard to do in Vegas with all the lights. I've heard the night sky is quite lovely out in the dessert once you get far enough out of the city. May they always carry those times close to their hearts and find ways to re-create those times on the porch. The 10 week Vegas show with the AGT folks has only a month to go and I am among the many Kevin Skinner fans wondering just what he will be doing next. Hey, oldhippy--any light that you can share on this?

I laugh at myself when I think how excited I got when you won... Talk about whooping and hollering... There's something I've wanted to say to you Kevin ever since I heard you do that song If Tomorrow Never Comes... I don't think there is ever enough love to make it all right... but the love that we give each other in this life sure helps when a loved one is taken... I can't put into words how much I enjoy hearing you sing. Your music comes through so pure and true... so straight from the heart... I thank you. I pray you won't let fame and fortune change you. I wish you well. God Bless You and Yours

I almost didn't watch AGT this time because I can't stand it when my favorite doesn't win! I am so glad I watched--I was so touched by your story and your music. Can't wait for a CD. I wish you and your family the best--enjoy! My grand daughter makes fun of me because I cry when emotional (like you seem to) and today when she heard me listening to your songs on this site, she came in and said teasingly, "are you crying?" I hope to be able to go to Vegas in December to see you sing!!! Congratulations!!!!

Wouldn't it be great to be able to see a video of Kevin on stage in Vegas? They do keep things under wraps there and no videos are coming out. I know Kevin is working on a CD. I wish him all the best with the recording, because I know there are many things that can go wrong. Hoping for the best possible sound, mix and feelings of the heart to come through loud and clear on that.
