Driving Traffic To Your Website with Keyword Sniping

If you are new to online marketing, or even if you've been around forever, whether you are making no money or a lot of money, keyword sniping can drive gauranteed web traffic to your site.

There has recently been some controversy surrounding Keyword Sniping. Rest assured the techniques totally work. It's the terminology that seems to be in question!

So let's just call it keyword targeting. Ok?

The first element of a good keyword is a key word or phrase that people are actually looking for!

How do you find out what people are looking for?

There are many tools available, some are free, and some cost money. Here are my two favorite ones.

Google Adwords Free Keyword Tool

This tool is great for finding big keywords. Google now gives you all the information you need, including the number of people searching for your keywords.

Micro Niche Finder

This tool is not free, but I love it for doing keyword research for Squidoo lenses and Hubpages. It digs in and finds great keywords that have searches but not too much competition.

Which brings us to the second piece of finding great keywords.

Find keywords with searches and not TOO much competition.

How you measure competition will depend on where you are writing your content. For Squidoo lenses I would say no more than 30,000 competing pages in Google. (that's doing a search for your keyword with the keyword in quotes, and not having more than 30k other pages showing up.)

How do you get your site in Google?

This one's easy and hard.

You create links and links and links to your keyword targeted posts.

The name of the game with Google is whoever has the most links wins. By winning I mean showing up at the top of Google!

So after you have created your content you want to spend most of your time creating backlinks to your posts, lenses, hubs, whatever it is you wrote.

I just don't understand how to get free web traffic 

don't worry ~ neither did I!!

Up until about 3 months ago I did okay with traffic to my blogs, Squidoo lenses and other places I had content online.

If you are at all familiar with internet marketing you probably know OK traffic does not make you great money. Some money? Yes!! But not the kind of money I was looking for.
