To Who Should I Pledge? Help Me Fund Projects at Kickstarter.com
Ranked #4,832 in People, #86,880 overall
I love creative, forward thinking people.
I love'em. They are the starting point for ideas that change and shape the world. They educate, help, and grow active communities. They bring joy to our lives through their music. Provide us beauty through their arts. They invoke emotions and expand our thoughts through their films, ideas and writings.
As a creative/forward thinking individual myself, I also know what it's like to have things that you are passionate about halted by one thing; Money.
That's why when I found out about a social fundraising site called Kickstarter.com, I was glad to see that there's a place for thinkers and creative individuals to have a chance to remove that obstacle and watch their ideas come to life. I'd also like to be apart of helping them.

How I Plan To Help
I'm the Cow!

Every month or so I want to make my own little pledge to these projects, and help make some dreams come to life for the individuals behind them.
Unfortunately, I'm not Donald Trump and can't support everyone. I could just pledge privately to one or two I'd like; however, I thought this would be a better way to pledge and help get other projects recognized at the same time.
So I'm asking YOU and other visitors who come across this page to vote on my "5 Projects" choices to potentially pledge to this month. The project with the most votes after the deadline ends, get's my cash. It's that simple.

Current Pledge Amount & Deadline
This month I'm going to pledge: (drum roll...)
$25
Why so little you ask? I'm a struggling dreamer like the rest of them. I've got mouths to feed and I figure every little bit counts.
When does voting end?

5 Projects
I'm having a hard decision to make. Who should I choose?
The descriptions below are excerpts from the project owners kickstarter.com page. Click the image below it to read the full description on kickstarter.com.
Launch one project to (kick)start thousands more!
"Hey! My name is Ana, and I'm trying to boost civic participation using video and social media with a project I've started called ycivics. I'm going to reward HS and college students with Flip video cameras for innovative work they do in their communities."

Jamie Tanner Makes A New Graphic Novel, You Get Original Art (and More)
"I'm Jamie Tanner, author of The Aviary, a strange and darkly comedic collection of short comics stories which was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2008. I'm often asked when I'll make another book, and my usual mildly embarrassed response is, "Um... when I can find the time?" Well, I'm looking to change that, and that's where Kickstarter and - most importantly - YOU come in. Basically, I'm inviting you to become a sort of patron of the sequential arts, and I'm offering some great comics and art-related rewards in return..."
UPDATE 09/24/09: Since voting started, Jamie Tanner has reached his funding goal! That's awesome! Jamie's project will be removed from the voting here to give others a chance to meet their funding goals; However you can still donate to his projects and help him even further. Just click the image below to donate!

PieLab
"The vision of 14 young Project M designers, is transforming from pop-up experimental pie shop to permanent downtown eatery in Greensboro, Alabama. This expansion will elevate our level of engagement among the residents of Greensboro and the surrounding area of Hale County. The new space will be equipped with a full service kitchen, a community-focused design studio, as well as classroom space which will be used to train local youth through the Youth Build program. "

the3six5 Blog, Book, and Beyond
"Everyday for 365 days, a different person will write an entry about their experience that day. It doesn't have to be about a specific topic, the key is that it somehow relates to what is happening in the world that day and how it relates to them. By doing so, starting from January 1 to December 31 of 2010, we will have a snapshot of the entire year, told from the perspective of 365 individual voices."

Geraldson Community Farm
"We are building a barn on our organic community farm. We are a nonprofit - 501(c)3 - and are looking for other ways to help the community. This barn will allow us to host classes, events and a library."

- That's awesome Jen! I see that your project reached it's goal. That's great! If you could help spread this lens to others, we may be able to help others reach their funding goals. I believe "the3six5 Blog, Book, and Beyond" is from Chicago too... so make sure to spread the word for your neighbor and feel free to pledge too ;) ( http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/LenKendall/the3six5-blog-book-and-beyond )
