What a great collection of information! Math can actually be a lot of fun if we allow it to be. I think this lens proves that!

It is hard to find quality resources for elementary mathematics! I teach second grade and my husband and I have created a website with math games, www.fuelthebrain.com
Let us know what you think!

I too hated math until I took classes in how to teach math using hands-on manipulatives. I now love teaching math and writing lenses about teaching math.

You have some interesting suggestions for online math games. You also might like to check out Fun and Games with Pre-Algebra.

Great info. I've got a kid ahead of his own smarts, so I'll be checking into this sort of thing shortly! We love learning!

Teaching/learning in general can be a "drag" as my niece best puts it .She's the actual reason i started this lens - To change her mindset so to speak ;-).
    Thanks for dropping by.

I have a serious mathmatical deficiency (which explains why math classes are the only ones I dont get A's in) My little one, doesn't mind it so much. Thanks for the games!

Hi Jimmie. We need to really keep up with the kids of today. What the majority of 70s/80s and 90's kids found fun and motivational now rates boring at best for what i like to call next-gen-kids.
Interactive games, word games and puzzle games where the kids can associate with the cartoon characters involved is a positive step in the right direction.
Check out my blog at blogger for another list which i also compiled to help my niece.
    Thanks for dropping by.

I'm currently on a jag of improving my daughter's math instruction to a more living math approach. I do want to look at each of these games videos. Those types of activities go over so well! (And especially better than a workbook!)

    Hi Susan,

Reinforcement of the times tables is definitely very crucial. Thanks for stopping by.

Playing math games was a huge part of our kids' education. Do everything you can to reinforce the times tables and your child should be in pretty good shape to continue math from that point forward. Important topic!
