Apprenticeship for Kids Who Love to Cook
"One day, my daughters are watching Disney. The next, they're watching The Food Network! Micah could recite her FAVORITE characters and shows. 'I want to be the youngest chef on The Food Network!'. Oh boy, where do I start?"
Believing that Google would give her the answer in minutes, I was quickly disappointed. There were no Chef schools open to children. Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table offered short-lived courses and camps, and were booked as soon as they opened.
I, an Internet Marketer and multiple online business owner, was baffled. "I so want my kids to live their dreams. We mostly give up on these dreams as we get older, and I wasn't willing for my kids to miss out on living their dreams because the resources aren't available. That's when I decided that I'd faciliate the demand for resources with www.KidPrentice.com.

Chefs and bakers starting young
The kitchen has always been an attractive place for kids, where delectable goodies and treats are created and enjoyed. Besides, there are many gadgets in the kitchen that can be pretty interesting for people under the age of 10. However, if becoming a chef or baker is an option that your kids are seriously considering as a career, then help them get a feel of cooking and baking - let them help!In fact, you can start training your kids in becoming a chef or baker even at a tender age of three or four. Just make sure that you teach them basic kitchen safety. At this age, kids can help in flattening the cookie dough or spreading jellies, peanut butter, and other sandwich spreads using a plastic spreader. They can also help put in ingredients in your mixing bowl. These activities are enough to pique your kids' interest. As your children grow older, give them more responsibility in the kitchen.
If your kids remain interested in helping out in the kitchen or in whipping up cookies and goodies when they reach the age of ten or eleven, then probably they are indeed serious about becoming a chef or baker someday. This is probably the best time to enroll them in a culinary school. Here are some great schools we recommend:

During the summer, some restaurants and fast food joints also accept summer programs for kids. What you can do is to see the manager of your favorite restaurants or fast food establishments to ask if they take in kid apprentices. If they don't agree, at least you tried your best.
Aside from becoming a chef or baker, there are also other careers that are food related which you might want to introduce to your kids. For instance, a caterer is someone that supplies foods during special events and occasions, particularly for large parties. Aside from handling the food, the caterer also takes charge of the beautiful presentation of the food that is being served and even provides the plates, forks and knives for the occasion. Other exciting careers in the food industry are as a chef instructor, which is the one who handles instruction and education of wannabe chefs; as a pastry chef, whose specialty is to create breads, dough, cakes, rolls and other fancy desserts; and as a sous-chef, who aids in running the kitchen and assists in cooking.

My KidPrentice - Micah
Micah has been cooking with my mom since she was very little, perfecting her mouth-watering, delicious, always-asked-for Caramel Popcorn. Her plans are to go to culinary school around the world (Japan and France), and own several restaurants AND be the youngest person to have her own show on The Food Network. My job is to ensure that she has all the opportunities available to her.
Yup! I'm a proud mama! Visit KidPrentice Chefs and Bakers to find out more.
