Im Sarah who is 28 years old and happy with a kids. We might never meet, but I am sure that we share the same problem - kidney stones. Having stent is the most torches thing! i can't do anything. After Clear from stones, and having many bills, i take control on my diet to prevent from stone reform. due my 24hours urine test, doctor advice me to control taking calcium and reduce oxalate in my diet. I have to minimize eating rhubarb, star fruit, beets, beet greens, collards, okra, refried beans, spinach, Swiss chard, sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, almonds and soy products. The most important - Always have enough fluid, i drink at least 14 cups everyday and more while hot day. The next thing is by change my "bedridden" life style, the fact is limited activity can cause my bones to release more calcium. While more calcium will drive stones to form again.

After A year plus, and have another check. i was really upset when doc found another 3 stones on my right. They all about 4mm average size. The good news (at least) for me is, my doc told me that i can pass that stones on my own by drinking (as usual) lot of water, about two to three quarts a day. if i have not passed it after three to six weeks, surgery is the way to go. But, within that "wait and see period", if my stones are causing constant pain or blocking the urine flow, they will treat me surgery immediately.

From my last experience, settle stones at ER room with modern technology is the best way to go and nothing to doubt about it. But it is so expensive especially for person who doesn't have insurance like me. Home remedies is the only way i have in my mind and to work with.

From virtual forums and groups, I found the famous tips for calcium types of stones - by drink LEMON JUICE WITH OLIVE OIL. With nothing to lose, i do drink about 3 oz, few times a day, applied for 4 days continuously. IT TASTED TERRIBLE. The taste is not my main problem, but I vomited so much until I couldn't stand up, got the shakes, and cold sweats. It's a very unpleasant experience.

I also tried APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, taking marshmallow supplements and something called stone free. I found all of this method is work for many people, but not for me. Look like anything acidic will not help me to dissolve my stones. I stop practiced it after i read about cola negative effect for kidney stones suffered. If one of this works, still i don't know which one to credit since i have tried so many foods. i have share this story with my doctor, and he said, once we have stones, its will keep forming. the best way to prevent kidney stones is by knowing exactly about our stones. once its discover, we can start to fix our diet by avoid having so much thing that can caused stones.
