Wikki Stix 

Kids can press letters, numbers, patterns, anything onto paper with these colorful, waxy strands that stick together. Fun for forming little shapes, too, as they would with clay--but without all the mess. These were a blessing for us on holiday car trips and in restaurants when our kids were younger.

Pocket Etch-a-Sketch 

One of my sons plays travel baseball, and the other 2--although they love their brother dearly--struggle to pay attention during long games. The younger guy has made some incredible drawings on our mini etch-a-sketch while waiting for his twin's turns at bat.
