Turn your blooming artist loose. This paint works well on newsprint
and in the bathtub as well.
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 cups cold water
1/4 cup clear dishwashing liquid
Food coloring
(for vibrant colors use food coloring paste)
Mix the sugar and cornstarch in a small pan, then slowly add the water. Cook over low heat , stirring until the mixture becomes a smooth, almost clear gel ( about 5 minutes) When the mixture is cool, stir in the dishwashing liquid. Scoop equal amounts into several containers and stir in the food coloring. This paint contains dish soap, so it dissolves in water. ( which makes it ideal for bathtub painting) Test to be sure paints don't leave a residue. Easy clean up with a powdered cleanser.

This sculptable stuff needs to be stored in airtight containers for weeks of fun.
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar, water, and oil in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until it holds together and keep mixing it or it will stick to the bottom of the pan. When the clay is cool to the touch, knead on a floured surface. Divide into smaller balls and add a different shade of food coloring to each ball.

Mix up a batch of this bubble solution for some good clean fun.
3 cups water
1 cup dish-washing liquid ( Joy or Dawn work best)
1/3 cup light corn syrup
In a large plastic container, stir the water, dish-washing liquid, and corn syrup. Store the bubbles in a covered container.
