    I think it's really important to get kids involved with gardening. Keeps them in touch with nature and gets them away from video games.

    This is a great idea for all the reasons you given. Makes me wish I were into gardening. As you suggested, though, it would make a great bonding experience for the grandparents. Excellent lens!

    It's actually a really good idea to get kids to do gardening - lots of fresh air and exercise. When I was a kid I had the vegetable patch all to myself, and grew tons of stuff. One year I grew 26 pounds of green tomatoes (unfortunately we didn't get enough sunshine) and my Mum had to make green tomato chutney out of it!. I was still chuffed with myself though!

    Thanks for that kind comment and for sharing your own experience. There really is a great sense of achievement in growing something isn't there - even if it is green tomatoes :-)

    These are great gardening tool kits for kids. My daughter used to love to help me in the garden. Didn't have these then. Great job.
