Kids Computer Games Recommendations

I have years of experience from NYC teaching kids computer games and now I have 2 young children who play kids computer games.  I love computer games -- always have.  I love introducing my kids to entertaining games we can play together that teach them without them even realizing it.  I will never recommend violent games.  There are so many wonderful games out there for kids with humor, educational value and that teach your children computer skills.  Please visit my blogs to get all my recommendations on kids computer games.  http://jennymannion.com/

Kids Computer Games

For all Ages can be educational AND entertaining without VIOLENCE

I get scared when I hear about young kids playing games when they are blowing up people. Society seems in a big hurry for our kids to grow up and that is SUCH a shame. Kids should be kids. Now if they don't know how to write their full name by preschool you'll have some teachers calling for tutors. I love the early years for kids -- they are expressing themselves, discovering who they are, and always using their active imaginations. What you present to them will reflect in the person they will become.

I only allow my kids to play games that:
1)Are NOT violent -- there's enough violence in the world -- my kids don't need to be exposed to it early on.
2)Are educational in some way. Some games I pick work on their attention skills or eye for details. Most I recommend work on logical thinking. All require some use of the imagination to figure things out or to create.
3) I would love to play with them. Games with humor, games good for the whole family, games that we can talk out to figure things out together. So they aren't mindlessly sitting in front of the computer shooting at something but learning and interacting while playing.

There are TONS of great games out there. I hope to introduce parents to a bunch they have never heard of before but that have proved themselves time and time again.
