Teaching Kids About money...

A lot of parents fail to teach their children about money, mostly because their parents didn't teach them anything about money.  So it is not surprising that most kids get the concept that you need money to buy things, but they don't understand the concept of having more money coming in than going out, or the basics of having and maintaining a budget.

What's even more surprising is that as kids we spend almost twelve years in school supposedly learning all of the important stuff, and no one ever teaches us about retirement plans, acquiring a mortgage or even how to make sure our rent is paid on time every month.

If we are fortunate enough to go to college many of us will acquire huge amounts of debt, before we have any gauranteed sources of income to pay off  those huge debts.  Well, consider this lens as us doing our small part to break that cycle.
